Owner description: A golfing Mecca for the most accomplished golfer to the enthusiastic amateur, a trip to St Andrews Links is one which realises the ultimate dream for golfers worldwide. From the iconic Swilcan Bridge on the Old Course to Tom Morris’s masterful architecture on the New Course, St Andrews Links has developed over 600 years to become one of the most famous locations in golf. Perhaps most fascinating however, is the fact that all seven courses at St Andrews Links are public and open to everyone. St Andrews Links is the largest public golfing complex in Europe. From the terrifying sight of Hell Bunker on the Old Course to the gentle slopes of the Balgove, the Home of Golf has become the ultimate golfing destination for all ages and abilities. The three championship courses; the Old Course, New Course and Jubilee Course run parallel to each other along the famous St Andrews Links West Sands of St Andrews. Nestled on the opposite side of the Links are the Eden, Strathtyrum and the only nine hole course, the Balgove. A five minute drive from town is the seventh course, the award winning Castle Course which offers dramatic views over St Andrews from its spectacular cliff top location. Away from the course, explore the fantastic facilities St Andrews Links has to offer. Learn the game where it was first played at the St Andrews Links Golf Academy. The Academy offers first-class tuition from PGA-Qualified St Andrews Links professionals and is home the only Callaway Performance Centre (custom-fit) in Scotland. The driving range has over 60 bays, including 22 indoors, and a landing zone which is over 400 yards long. All mats are air cushioned, and five bays include the Power Tee automated system. There is short game area, which includes a replica of Road Bunker, and a putting green, once the second on the Eden Course and regarded as one of the finest in St Andrews. Shop our fantastic range of official merchandise from our five retail stores, the Old Course Shop, the 18th Green Shop, the Links Clubhouse Shop, the Castle Course shop and the oldest golf shop in the world – Tom Morris. Finally relax in the Swilcan Restaurant in the Links Clubhouse, The Eden Clubhouse or the Castle Course Clubhouse with a wee dram as you reflect on your visit to the Home of Golf.

“Golfer's Dream”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

Didn't actually play since we didn't book a tee time a year in advance, but it is great to stop-in and there is lots to do and see right along the 17/18th hole and the 1st tee (you can actually walk across the 1st and 18th fairways. If you are even a little interested in golf, it is a must. It's the oldest golf course in the world after all. Don't plan to eat along the course, very swanky and many member's only places. A few pro shop type places, very expensive as you can imagine.

Thanks for the review. Even if you have missed out on the advanced applications for tee times you can play the Old Course at shorter notice by trying your luck in the Ballot or even turning up early in the morning on the day you wish to play as a 'single golfer'. Did you try the St Andrews Links Clubhouse for a bite to eat? It sits alongside the 1st tees of the New and Jubilee Courses. Many thanks.

“Nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

Not sure if this is the right place lol but St Andrews is lovely. There was a Market on when we went and had rides there for the kids (waltzers, dodgem cars, side shows etc), it was a bit like a mini Blackpool. The people were lovely there. We had to stop and ask a traffic marshall for directions/information, he was so helpful even if he wad freezing cold and soaked to the skin. All the stall holders were lovely and always had a nice word to say to you. Would revisit

Thanks for getting in touch. This page is specifically for St Andrews Links which runs and maintains 7 golf courses, 3 clubhouses, 5 shops and a Golf Academy here in St Andrews. The Lammas Market however is a traditional fair that returns to the town each August. Thanks.

“A must for all visitors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

Take time to watch golfers on the first tee and 18th green. Watching the reaction of both golfers and spectators, many foreign, is part of the attraction.

Many thanks for the review. The galleries at 1 and 18 put that extra bit of pressure on the golfers but its all part of the experience. Regards.

“A must do for keen Golfers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

St Andrews has been on my Bucket List for many years and now I can tick it off. The experience was well worth it knowing you were walking in the footsteps of the most famous golfers in the world at the home of golf. The course is quite open & challenging especially if you get in the rough or the bunkers. The greens were huge & undulating and not easy to put on. We had a windy day which added to the experience knowing the conditions the champs play under. Many thanks to the staff who are extremely polite & helpful.

“Mecca of Golfing Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2014

All Golfers dream come true Links Home of Golf. A caddie is a must to enjoy your first round here. Collin gave me great advice to and on the greens. The morning was chill with the wind blowing mildly. As we finished 9 the sun came out and we had a glorious sunny back 9. Finished with 4 pars and that made my day. Mind you we were the first on the Tee box at 06.30 AM that left is the whole day to spend in St Andrews town and soak in the sights and sun shine. God willing I will be back some day.
