“Seems consistent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

First stay at Old Fishergate, hopefully not our last. Our room was lovely, but the other couple staying visit regularly and prefer the other room! Everything was of high quality: lovely bed, spacious room, great shower, delicious breakfast and great buttery homemade shortbread! Along with all the other reviews, a consistent five star rating.

This is a delightful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Tucked away on a quiet side street, it is only a short walk to cafes, shops and the sea. The Scores is just at the bottom of the road, which is a beautiful street to wander along.
The house itself has a long and interesting history and has been beautifully restored. Our room was an excellent mix of traditional - little leather armchair, old wooden shutters at the window, and modern - sleek, warm ensuite with a large shower. The beds were comfortable and the room had everything we could have wanted, including an iron and ironing board.
Angus and Jennifer provided the most delicious breakfasts - certainly the best we have ever enjoyed. The whole experience was an absolute pleasure and we are already booked in to return next year. This B and B deserves an Excellent + rating. It was fab!

we were returning to St Andrews after a long absence, having lived there many years ago. This was a lucky find and probably the best B & B I've ever stayed in. The room was quiet, beautifully furnished, with very modern excellent shower, also free sherry, tea, coffee, homemade biscuits and everything you could want or wish for. Lovely window seats to look out and contemplate the quiet serenity of this peaceful and ancient part of the city. (right by the castle ruins and sea) Having booked it as just a bed to stay, it proved to be one of the many memorable highlights of our 3 day visit. Jennifer and Angus were very welcoming, helpful yet unobtrusive hosts greeting us each morning with a stunning and varied breakfast menu. If you just need to get away from it all and totally relax for a few days (and be near the East and West Sands and pier for lovely walks) this is the perfect place.

What a perfect little B&B! Only two rooms, but I hope that you're lucky enough to snag one some time. Quiet little side street only a long throw from the cathedral and the castle ruins. Add in a short walk to the shops and restaurants on Market and South Streets. Wonderful hosts, wonderful breakfasts. How can you ask for anything more?

Perfect location... quiet street by the castle ruins and around the corner from the university, shops, restaurants, etc. Lovely room with plenty of space, comfortable amenities and attentive hosts! (Jennifer and Angus) Breakfasts were delicious and prepared to our specifications. I can't think of anything that was missing! Would love to come back again. Lovely people, lovely place.

Room Tip: Only 2 rooms! Ours looked out onto the street and the old church across the street was beautiful.

Found this B&B here on Trip Advisor, and what a find. Great rooms, that include a sitting room, roomy bath, and a superb breakfast. As an added bonus, Jennifer and Angus are the best, and really made us feel at home. The location allowed for parking that was either on the same street or always close by (which can be a problem in some parts of St. Andrews), and was a convenient walk to the sites and the restaurants/pubs. Not sure if I'd want to risk a return to St. Andrews without staying there, as anywhere else couldn't come close.

This B&B was a very pleasant surprise. We had another B&B cancel our reservation with very little notice and were able to arrange to stay at Old Fishergate. This place is impeccably decorated with great amenities. Bedoom, living room area and bathroom brand new in this 16th century home. It truly makes you feel at home after a long day's journey. The breakfast was excellent and this couple, Jennifer and Angus go out of their way to make you comfortable. They have a booklet with their personal recommendations on things in St Andrews. My daughter and I stayed in the twin room at the top of the stairs. We wished we could stay another night and will definitely return. The B&B is near the beach and an easy walk to golf course, bus station, St Andrew's ruins and the University. We highly recommend this place, we just hope it doesnt get so popular that we will not be able to get a room the next time we come to St Andrews!!
