Stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in February whilst on business. Booked by my employer so had no choice but to stay here.

The first room I was offered in the first week had the bath panel hanging off, filthy bath & shower and a mattress that you could spit peas through.

I was then moved to another room which was slightly better, however it was very noisy and the shower did not work properly.

When I arrived back the second week (2 days later), the hotel had converted many of its rooms to smoking rooms and as a result I was unable to be provided with a non-smoking double room as booked in advance.

Basically, the entire upstairs corridor was stinking of cigarette smoke that was leaking from the smoking rooms. It was appalling.

I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff were very happy and friendly. The service was excllent and the food was amazing.

we stayed at the hotel for 2 nights the room was dirty and out dated the children werent allowed in any rooms except the restaurant to eat and our hotel room the reception staff looked horrified because we had children who i can say were VERY WELL BEHAVED AND POLITE our door lock kept braking the grounds man had to climb through our window they said the battery went dead but it happened 10 hours later and they were not helpfull at all even though it wasnt our fault their was bugs in the bath and on the window sills plus the bedding was not fresh i moved the bedside cabinet to get my sons toy that had fell down the back and their was lots of bits their what ever you do if your staying their dont take children and as for a clean room we will never be staying their again the beach in kirkcaldy was cleaner as for star rating it dont get any im very annoyed with the dean park hotel it was filthy plus the menu they dont have half the food they say they have on the menu it terrible but they dont tell you when entering for your meal and the plates are half empty cause they are short of food and dont even tell you theirs no beans wats a fry up with no beans or haggis DONT STAY THEIR ITS HORRIBLE AND DIRTY

I stayed at the Dean Park Hotel Kirkcaldy in October 2005.
The first impression is poor as the Hotel looks run down with rusty metal fittings outside and worn paint etc. Once you get inside its no better. The internal decoration is poor and the hotel reception smells of stale smoke. Many of the fixtures and fittings are either broken or worn. The atmosphere is not helped by the fact that the premises is poorly lit and feels gloomy. The bedrooms were reasonably fitted out but again the decoration was poor. I choose to eat in the restaurant on my first evening at the hotel. The food was pricey and not very well presented and it was overcooked. Breakfast the next morning was OK but the waitress swept crumbs from the previous diner off my table onto the floor as she showed me to my seat. Overall, not an enjoyable stay.
