Another perfect stay at the ever perfect Balbinie House Hotel........need I say more?!

I booked this place via a late booking website and paid £45 less than the standard cost of bed & breakfast for dinner, bed and breakfast. The whole experience was so good I felt I'd committed some form of robbery when I came to settle the bill!

Room - perfect.
Staff - the best of any hotel I've ever been in.
Food - exquisite.

You are simply made to feel like Royalty at Balbirnie, I will definitely return!

Last August my wife and I were invited to a wedding at Balbirnie House and as we thoroughly enjoyed it we decided that we would at a later date go back for a break. We have just returned from a mid week break and I confess that we were not disappointed. On arrival the Receptionist told us that we had been upgraded which turned out to be a very pleasant surprise - huge room with four poster bed and a Jacuzzi ! The staff were very polite, helpful and unobtrusive. Dinner and breakfast were superb. We particularly liked the huge scallops with chanterelles as a starter.

We would certainly recommend a stay at this charming hotel and we look forward to another visit next year.

We couldn't believe our luck when we arrived at Balbirnie (July 2005) having booked that morning on laterooms.com. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and as the hotel was not busy we were upgraded to one of their luxury suites at no extra charge. The room was enormous and dwarfed the 4-poster bed. The furnishings were sumptuous and elegant yet felt very homely. A welcoming sherry decanter, home-made biscuits, tea and coffee, walk-in dressing rooms, bathrobes, a luxurious en-suite bathroom with free-standing bath, luxury toiletries, sumptuous towels; even our Westie was made welcome and addressed by name wherever he went. The evening meal in the Orangery had some of the best food we have ever tasted and the breakfast next morning was to die for. Helpful but unobtrusive staff. Nothing too much trouble. The public rooms, at first sight a bit dated, actually all achieve the same objective: comfort. We felt very pampered from arrival to departure. Unfortunately we had only booked one night; we shall definitely return!
