This is a great place to stay if you are looking for budget accomodation that is within easy access to Edinburgh, Fife, Glasgow and Perthshire. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Rooms are clean and up to Holiday Inn Express standard and the area is very safe. It is located minutes from the town center and just across the street from 24 hour ASDA.
The only thing you will not get is an A/C but if you can do without then you got yourself a deal!

Well what to say... Brand new hotel .. was my first time in an express holiday inn and we werent left dissapointed.
It was handy for a stop of point heading to edinburgh.
The rooms where very fancy. Bathroom was of good size and a brilliant power shower :) :)
Good size room with all the normal amenties. The continental breakfast was nice to start of the day. Id also like to add that the hotel is right opposite an ASDA . which is handy if you need anything.

This is a newly built hotel located near Dunfermline (you will see from the photo the grounds are still being landscaped). It is close to a busy road but the double glazing keeps out the noise. The hotel is neat, clean and tidy. the reception was staffed by friendly helpful staff. The rooms are fairly large with comfortable beds (although the double beds are a bit small). On suites appear to all be showerooms, but are well layed out and very clean. The showers are excellent. Rooms have colour TV with a small selection of channels and pay movies.
Breakast is continental style with cereals, breads, fruits etc. Not a huge choice but fine.
The lobby is bright and airy and there is a bar with TV etc.
The standard rate (June 2006) is £69 per room per night inc breakfast. You can often get it as cheap as £39 per room inc breakfast. This makes it a real bargain. The hotel has free parking directly outside and its only a 10 min walk to the rail station to go to Edinburgh, or you can drive and park at the station for free.
For £39 per night inc breakfast for a family of four I don't think you can go wrong. I would stay here again.

Just completed a two-night stay at the HIE in Dunfermline, Scotland. A newly built hotel, with decor and room design in line with the other new HIE properties. All in a very pleasant experience. Staff friendly and efficient. Room as per other HIEs - not huge, but very clean and contemporary look. Breakfast - a cereal, toast and coffee type affair, which suits me just fine. Easily recommended, and with such cheap rates too!
