“Soul Less”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

The place is quite large with alot of tables, even although quite a few of the tables were occupied there was no atmosphere, no background music, nothing, it was souless. The food was just average. My son and I sahred the nanchos and were looking forward to them but they were so sickly. Then his pizza arrived and was like rubber. My burger was tasteless.

“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

Dropped in here for. Was busy but service still quick and pleasant enough. Quite liked the decor and layout. Fodd was very average, and felt very much like a chain restaurant. Was okay but not worth a return visit

“The Papa of all Anglo/Italian eateries”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

I thought that this was part of a large chain, like Frankie and Bennie's but the food certainly begged to differ. I had one of the best T bones I have ever eaten.
The staff were very friendly and attentive without being intrusive, the food was served promptly and was very hot and fresh. The prices were reasonable and the range offered was enough to suit most tastes.
The decor and music is early 20th century USA / Rock 'n' Roll but the building layout is a wee bit functional. The restaurant is quartered into 4 equal sections, seperated by mid height room dividers. The idea (I assume) is to fill each section one by one so that the restaurant always has a busier feel to it. Makes sense but the tables are kind of regimentally set out which does give it a slightly cafeteria/burger bar feel. Having said that, don't let it put you off, the staff and management were universally cheerful and helpful and the food was superb.
Sometimes they give you a promotional discount if you return for another meal, we got 25% off our bill for returning within a month on one previous occasion and so my wife and I have made a point of returning and have never been disappointed. blackened chicken, king prawns, steaks, salads, pizzas, pastas, plenty of tasty options to choose from.
On one ocassion the food and service were of such an exceptional standard that I actually wrote a complimentary letter to the manager. Credit where it is due. Well done Papa Joe's!

“Nothing special”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

Myself and family eat out regularly but having only been to PJs once and never returned shows it did not have a great impact on us! The layout of the restaurant made us feel like we were in a school canteen! The waitress seemed to be going through the motions but was very unenthusiastic and lacking any emotion or interaction - perhaps this is how they are trained there but a smile goes a long way!!! The food was average and served in a reasonable time but overall it wasn't a very enjoyable meal.
