Culross is a fabulous place to visit and nothing much has changed in hundreds of years. It is situated on the Forth river shore and it's past owners were the Colvilles the Preston's and the Bruces. Interestingly Sir Robert Preston Bart changed the face of Culross and the Abbey House which used to be 4 storeys high. He also held the Barontecy of Valleyfield and his house stood once proud in the woodlands estate. The only remains of the house are still bried under earth but the gardens and bridges built by Sir Humphrey Repton still stand and are being renovated by the Council and Local Heritage groups. The walk is fantastic as it follows the Bluther burn up to Shiresmill. It is truly an amazing place to visit.
