“Falkirk's real restaurant.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Birthday evening out at Pierres was a great choice.
Not busy, in fact only another 4 diners, but it was Thursday night in Falkirk!
The menu was a bit limited with only 4 choices for mains on the alacarte, but you could also choose from the "special" menu and we were all more than happy.
We were given an amouse bouché of cauliflower soup which was lovely, but the bread offered was just sliced French stick. Doesn't take much to be a bit more adventurous with bread.
Starters were black pudding and scallops, home made pâté with brioche, seared and pink sliced beef & salad on what appeared to be deep fried Camembert, Brie or some such, (forgot to ask) & pea soup.
All were beautifully presented and tasted great.
Mains were confit duck with garlic polenta, fillet steak & sirloin steak with caramelised onions, chips (which were fabulous!), rocket with Parmesan shavings, and veg.
The steaks were cooks as requested, medium & ,medium to rare, with peppercorn sauce and were tender, tasting great.
I then had the trio of creme brûlée again cooked to perfection.
Nice wines, chosen by our host.
Can be busy on Fridays & Saturdays so booking is advisable, but not too, busy during the week.
Once a month they have a Sunday roast which is always booked solid and great value.

“Best food in town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

Whether you come for lunch or dinner, food always of high quality. Nowhere competes in the area for quality and value, though A La Carte on a Saturday is still fantastic though pricier than the lunch/evening special deals. Wines also excellent, thoughtfully chosen to compliment the food.

“Wonderful first visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Had a birthday meal here. Although I hadn't been before, I was delightfully surprised by the intimate restaurant and exceptional food. Service could not be faulted, staff were friendly and attentive and did not to the interrupting thing to see if we were happy (which I absolutely HATE). My starter was delicious and fresh, and my steak was cooked to perfection. Oh and the puddings! Good value for money, too. Will definitely be back soon.
