Description: Sanam Tandoori Restaurant first opened its doors in 1976 and has gone from strength to strength on the back of authentic Indian cuisine and a dedicated personal service. It was originally founded and managed by Mr Mohammed Anwar until 1999 when he passed the reins down to his sons - Nadeem, Waseem, Naeem and Azeem - who continue to run the restaurant to the present day. Over the years the restaurant has undergone several significant refurbishments - most notably its most recent renovation in November 2012. Today the restaurant is without a doubt one of the most stylish eateries in Central Scotland.

“Modern and tasty!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012 via mobile

I had never been to this restaurant before but i had heard that it had been refurbished and was looking good so we decided to try it out.

First of all the staff are great, really friendly. The food was really good and fairly reasonably priced. I had a peshwari nan, i love peshwari nan's and i would say this was the best one I've ever had!

They also had a good selection of wine and other drinks. Definitely recommend it!

“Excellent from Start to Finish!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Went for lunch today at the newly refurbished and totally transformed Sanam. Although I was fond of the old place as was, the refurb is a vast improvement in surroundings, brightness and space. The food has gone up a few of notches as well. The fairly popular and good value buffet format has been replaced by extensive set lunch menus of equal value but a much fresher, hotter and better quality selection.

Set 3-course lunch menus vary in price from £4.95 to £7.45 (lamb a reasonable 50p extra) and each option represents a very good deal.

My wife and I had veg pakora and chat paty for starters, chicken tikka masala and lamb tikka karahi for mains and pistachio ice cream/coffee to finish. Everything was delightful including the (for curry houses) unusually high quality ice cream and fresh coffee.

While it was faultless before, customer service has now been tuned to a fine degree.

Our bill of £18.30 for two 3-course lunches plus an extra coffee and a big jug of off-menu mango lassi would be hard to beat anywhere in terms of value, quality, surroundings and service.

With little doubt, the Sanam is now the best place to go for a good Indo/Pak meal and all round experience/value in the Forth Valley area, if not beyond.
