Due to the quality of review on tripadvisor we decided to book into Ashbank and we were not to be disappointed from the warmth of the welcome through to our leaving we found nothing to fault this friendly guest house.
The building itself has been lovingly restored or maintained to an extremely high standard, the entrance hall magnificent with wood paneled doors and original tiled floor and the breakfast room equally imposing yet warm & welcoming.
Our bedroom (4) was extremely roomy with views across Grangemouth and the river beyond to the mountains, though the weather did not permit a clear view. The en-suite also had plenty of space and a large corner bath with overhead power shower and had clean, soft towels, oils and potions aplenty and even flowers to. Our hosts taste in art and artwork was imaginative with a local and travelled flair.
The king-sizes bed was probably the most comfortable guest house bed I have ever slept in and with the breakfast served made up of all fresh ingredients puts this establishment in my all time top 5 of Guest Houses/ B & B's and that is high praise indeed as I've travelled the UK extensively, always opting for homely rather than hotel and am at the grumpy old man stage in life!
Well done, thankyou and we'll definitely return.
