“Excellent value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2010

We enjoyed a lovely stay at this hotel last weekend. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on Saturday night. There was a 3 course menu for £10 each. Excellnt value for money with good, satisfying portions. The food was really good so much so we regretted not eating there on the Friday night instead of having horrible meal in a tapas bar/restaurant.

The staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for customers.

Will certainly be back I think.

Just returned from a weekend stay. Weather was not too good but the hotel was so warm and comfortable, it didn't matter. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food excellent and the 3 course evening meal for £10 was a real treat.

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip, and the facilities were of a decent standard. Rooms were of average size and food was reasonable, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. For the price I paid, this hotel provided good value.

The hotel does look somewhat out of date in it's general appearance and decor. The room was basic with a flat screen tv and tea/coffee facilities, but no air conditioning. Breakfast was a fairly basic hot buffet, plus cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice & fruit. It is fairly close to town (10 min walk perhaps), where there is a reasonable selection of places to eat.

I was visiting Falkirk and saw the mixed reviews for this hotel but due to it's location we decided to give it a try. It didn't look much from the outside but when we entered we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel lounge was lovely and not what you would have expected from the outside. We were checked in by a very pleasant young lady on reception who couldn't have been more helpful. We went to our room and it was very tastfully decorated with flat screen tv and lovely furnishings not to mention the large bed. We reserved a table for dinner and couldn't believe the value! 3 course for £10 pounds, nothing fancy but a good hearty well presented meal. We will definately be back.

1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2009

Stayed here for 2 nights and were extremely disappointed. The reception is nice and the receptionist friendly. However the corridors are dismal and the room was absolutely tiny. We had a double room practically the size of a shoebox - only room for one person to squeeze around the side of the bed. It was also extremely hot and uncomfortable. The decor is very dark. One night there was a disco on downstairs until late which was noisy. Both nights there were guests returning to their rooms until about 3.30 am shouting and singing in the corridors and having arguments. The walls were very thin and it was very difficult to sleep in the noise and heat. The bathroom was basic and was a bit off-putting as there had been something spilled all down the bathroom door and not cleaned up - this made me wonder how clean the whole room was.

On the plus side it was just a short distance from Falkirk and there was a plasma tv.

We wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone - we stayed out as much as we could as it was not a pleasant place to be. We don't mind basic rooms but this was something else.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2009

We stayed here 6 months ago and were very disapppointed with the room. However we decided to give it another chance as it is within walkng distance of family. This time we had a renovated room at the front of the hotel. The decor was good, albeit quite dark and there was a good quality flat screen TV. THe bed was huge and very comfortable. The room was a much better size. The bathroom was clean. All the staff were riendly and helpful. We had prepaid a special offer package which included breakfast and was excellent value. The breakfast was waitress service one day and buffet the next. The full scottish breakfast is huge ( although the sausages weren't very nice ). It's in a good location for travelling about Central Scotland. The public rooms downstairs have been nicely decorated and the bar is pleasant although it suffers from the common trait of having a TV on all the time.
