A few years ago, I'd go into Double Dutch once or twice a week to grab a much needed coffee in lecture breaks. It was well-priced, friendly, and tasty - there was also a deal where you could have a coffee and a bacon roll for £2.50 (in my case, the coffee was a mocha with whipped cream). The manager recognised me, and we'd chat.
Now, though, the prices have gone up, the quality has gone down, and the staff are surly. Last time I went, I ordered meze which didn't come, and the waitress said she hadn't heard me order that, only tap water. All my friends had heard me. When it finally came, it was nothing special. My friend requested not to have any yoghurt on her meal (she's vegan), but there was yoghurt on it. Last time I got a coffee, the lid didn't fit properly.
Also, the menu offers pancakes with maple syrup. They don't actually use maple syrup, it's golden syrup, which just isn't nearly the same. I did point this out a year or more ago and it still hasn't changed (last time I was there, I checked if they had maple syrup yet).
It's sad, but I wouldn't go there, and would advise friends not to go there either.
