My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights at the Ben Cruachan Guest House in late Septemeber. We were given a fantastic room on the bottom floor that looked out to the backyard. The room itself was spacious, quiet and very clean.

The breakfasts were amazing! Porridge to start with a choice of fresh fruit, smoked salmon or a traditional Scottish breakfast. The breakfast kept us full for hours, which is great when you're spending the day sightseeing.

It 's in a great location close to Princes Street. We didn't need to take the bus once and were able to see everything we wanted to.
Also at the end of the street there's a Tesco Express, which was a great place to pick up some drinks and snacks.

Carole and George were very welcoming. We couldn't have hoped for a better place to start our trip around the UK!

*Just a little added note: they are not set up to accept Credit Cards for payment. There is an ATM at McDonald & Leith Walk which has the Plus logo for those using bank cards from outside the UK.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Ben Cruachan B&B. Carole and George are gracious hosts. Our room was nicely appointed and the bed comfortable. The bath was clean and spacious with good hot water. Our breakfasts were wonderful and prepared at exactly the time we requested the night before. The table setings were elegant, like fine hotel. The location is fine and with a mild walk you can be at Princes St. Major bus lines are nearly at the door and the bus system easy and cheap to use. We spent eleven days with Carole and George and hope to see them again.

I have just returned from a two night stay in this gem of a guest house. I had a lovely room which was tastefully decorated and had a lovely ensuite shower room. The hospitality of Carole and George is second to none and nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfasts are delicious, with plenty of choice.. I would thoroughly recommend this guest house.

My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights in September, 2008 and were extremely impressed with the cleanliness, the friendliness of our hosts and the incredible breakfasts served hot and steamy. The organic porridge was a real treat.

It was my sister’s first stay at a B & B and she commented that, “Carol had set a high standard and that other B & B’s were going to find it hard to match the standard set at Ben Cruachan.” Carol and George were amazing and went out of their way to make our visit relaxing and comfortable. They recommended Tail’s End for fish & chips that were superb!

Had a great stay at Ben Cruachan in September 2008. The B&B is welcoming and the landlord and landlady seem to be genuinely nice people, providing good advice on local attractions (Mary King's Close - well worth a visit) and nearby eating places (Guilianos - excellent - had dinner here on both nights of break).

The breakfasts are superb - Porridge with honey/whiskey/cream and an excellent cooked breakfast. The bedroom was not massive but was well finished, clean and tidy.

The location is good also - 5-10mins walk to the city centre, e.g. bus tours, Princes street, etc. John Lewis is also 5 mins walk.
