We had a lovely stay att Ben Cruachan i april and we will give our very best recommendations. Ben Cruachan has been newly renovated and it is nicely decorated. It is fresh and clean and Carol and her husband George do their best to make their guests feel good and cared for. You should really try their terrific breakfast. So don´t hesitate to give them a call if you are going to visit Edinburgh.

Ben Cruachan was absolutely lovely and everything you would want in a guest house; very friendly, beautiful room, incredible breakfast. We were there for the marathon weekend and Carole made us sandwiches and yoghurts and left a mini fridge in the room. Normally the breakfast consists of fresh porridge with whisky and cream, smoked salmon or hearty cooked Scottish breakfats or a generous portion of fresh fruit and greek yoghurt but carole was happy to make us something extra to meet our needs. The location was only a 10 minute walk from Princes Street so was ideal.

We have just returned from our trip to Edinburgh. It was fantastic! We were staying in a guest house and found it very convenient. Location is good- 15-20 minutes walk from the city cenre, which proved to be very handy as we could come in the afternoon, have a rest for a couple of hours and went out.The guest house is run by a very friendly couple -Carole and George. We were very warmly welcomed, shown around and given some practical and valuable pieces of advice. In the morning we were pleasantly surprised : breakfast was not only very big but very tasty and fresh. You can taste porridge with whisky! If you are not after porridge the option was a traditional and substantial eggs and sausage and bacon or smoked salmon (a special delivery from a fisherman) with scrambled eggs. That was delicious. In the evening you could have a glass of sherry, the dining room was never locked and you could always have an access to a good drink.

The room was cleaned every day and kept warm and comfortable. The room we occupied faced a garden with a fountain so we fell asleep after a long walking day to the peaceful sound of a fountain.

We want to thank Carole and George once again as they helped to make our trip a very good holiday. Hope to come back one day.

I had looked at all the Bed and breakfast available in Edinburgh and had only found 2 that were of amazing standard.
Just be careful that what you see on the internet is what you get.Make sure that you are getting the room that you want.
Because we did not get the room advertised on the internet and it was a bit of a dissappointment.
