“Nice Food and Atmosphere but sides seem pricey.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

Choose here whilst wondering around the Royal Mile, purely because there is a lack of Mexican restaurants in Birmingham.

The restaurant appears small, but there is a downstairs area with a lot more seating. The palce was clean and tidy and decorated with what I assume is a mexican flavour. We ordered Nachos to start and burritos and fajitas for mains. The fajitas portion was maybe a little on the small side, but did taste very good. The burrito was also very good.

I must say that the food wasn't particularly spicy, even with the extra jalapeños on the Nachos. Also the food did seem a little on the dry side, so we asked for some salsa but got charged a rather pricey 2.25 for the amount that we got.

“Not so impressed..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

It started out really well with a nice Sangria and yummy starters.
Then I got my main - chicken burrito. It was dry and didn't have much of a taste!
So disappointed!

“A little expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Ordered a main course of quesada grande, which was £12. It was tasty, but I'm not sure if it was worth it. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated with traditional Mexican decor

“School dinners are better”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013 via mobile

Last night had the most boring burrito I've ever eaten. School dinners would have been better. Fortunately I also ordered the chipotle salsa which added heat and smoke, although it came full of onions.

I can expect bland from the rice and retried beans. The burrito was billed as having mince and fresh salad and guacamole. Mince was flavourless, almost non existent. The fresh salad was non existent. A microscopic amount of guacamole and one jalapeño would be generous of me.

Stuffed jalapeño starter was small but nice. However, I mentioned when asked about the food that the burritos were the poorest fare I'd ever eaten and was told it would be passed on. Impression, they couldn't care less.

“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

This was pretty expensive for what we ordered, nachos were expensive and guacamole was an extra £1, which we weren't told about when it was offered. Tasty food but not sure about the value.
