“A Hidden Gem... Literally!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

Hidden away at the very rear of the Valvona & Crolla delicatessen is small cafe. We were made to feel very welcome and service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive.

If you are a lover of Italian food then you may struggle to make your way through the exceptionally well stocked deli... but it's worth resisting temptation... after all, you can browse all the goodies in the deli on the way out.

“insert witty italian quote here”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Met some friends here for brunch last saturday. First of all I think the owners/manager needs to make people aware that there is a cafe here. Have walked past elm row several times and always thought it was just a deli shop. Never the less the place was packed so maybe there is no need to advertise this. Any ways was quickly sat and brought a coffee, having had vavona and crolla coffee before from the multrees walk branch and love it i was rather dissapointed byt the two cups i had here. Breakfast was ok. Spiced sausage was the highlight (somewhere between a chorizo and a merguez) down side was the size. not really worth a tenner. Staff were attentative and quick to act, setting is lovely and can accomodate larger parties. But have had better and cheaper brunches elsewhere and probably wont go back to investigate lunch.

“Pleasant experience in jenners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012 via mobile

I was recently in Edinburgh visiting friends. Popped into small v&c cafe on the corner of jenners for coffees. Excellent service received from young man in glasses. Not a fault about the coffee. Would definitely recommend. All in all a great stop.

“Relaxed, delicious grub, friendly staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Lunch visit with the kids, "warm chocolate" in grown-up glasses, pasta dishes and a pretty huge pizza. Walked in - no queue which was unexpected! Zippy fast service with a smile.

“Excellent meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Food was excellent, surroundings very pleasant, and we were not hurried at all despite it being a Saturday afternoon. Lunch for three ( one starter shared, three mains, three puddings) with coffee and a bottle of wine for £66. Just wish it was nearer home!
