“Perfect for a short stay in Edinburgh”

We stayed at lantern guest house for a night and found it to be excellent. The room was clean, comfortable and cosy. It was well equipped and modern but still with a traditional feel. The hotel was very central as it was only a short walk from Waverly station.
Very good value for money and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Lantern Guest House is definitely the best place to stay in Edinburgh! We had a great stay. The room was very clean and the location was great , close to the city centre. The owners were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this Guest House to anyone. Many thx Michiel, Fiona & Julia !!!!!

After researching the net and reading reviews my friend and I chose this guesthouse for our 2-day trip in Edinburgh in May'08. We had a great experience - the location is excellent, close to the city centre yet quiet; room was quite spacious (compared to other places we stayed at in Scotland), bathroom – clean and sufficient, hot water at all times; owners very friendly. In summary, everything was as expected and we received excellent service for a very economical price - I would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic place to stay ! We stayed at Windsor House (the sister guesthouse) and it was great. Lovely big room, comfortable beds and a little ensuite with a really good shower. Room was clean and airey. The welcome was very friendly with help booking taxis and even the loan of an iron ! A brilliant location, close to the centre but in a lovely quiet street. We would definately stay again !

For somewhere to stay in Edinburgh that is reasonably priced and in a good position this is perfect. The three of us had an enormous room in a lovely Georgian house just 5 minutes walk from Waverley Station. Very helpful owners. No meals but there are plenty of places within walking distance. Nice quiet street so very peaceful. I would definitely stay here again.
