“AMAZING!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2011

I stayed in the apartment 27a over a weekend with my family and girlfriend. The apartment was very clean and had everything that we needed. It is very central and only takes about 5 minutes to walk along to bars, restaurants, shops etc. Had a brilliant time in Edinburgh and will definitely return to albany street apartments. The 2 ladies who met and handed over the keys were really friendly and helpful.
There were no problems and we all had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay!!!

I stayed in 27A Albany Street during a hen weekend (upmarket, of course!) The apartment, which sleeps eight people, is a fantastic option if you want to self-cater in Edinburgh and is particularly good for groups. Situated on an atmospheric and upmarket street, it had been refurbished and maintained to a very high standard, with good quality bathrooms and kitchens, nice furniture and wooden floors throughout. Although in a basement, it was not dark at all and there were homely touches everywhere, including outside seating areas. It was also impeccably clean and we appreciated the warm welcome from the owner.

As others have mentioned, the location is perfect for getting around Edinburgh and there are good amenities within a short walk (including a brilliant wholefood shop just round the corner). Edinburgh is just brilliant - it has to be one of the best weekend break destinations ever! I'd highly recommend the restaurant/bar/club Tiger Lily, which was a really lively venue with excellent food and service.

We hired two apartments a couple of street apart to attend a wedding in Edinburgh - one for a group of 7 and one for a group of 4. Most of us were adults, just two children - aged 9 & 13. Both apartments were very clean, well furnished and in great locations just a few minutes walk from the city centre. The owner was very hospitable and well organised. I would stay there again and would recommend it to friends. If you are travelling with very young children I presume the owner would arrange a highchair, cot etc as there was not one in the apartment but it might be worth checking. The only other thing I look for which wasn't there was a selection of books on the shelves.

Stayed here for a few days with family and booked 35b and 37b. The apartments were next door to each other which was very handy, great if you are in a large group. The apartments were clean and had everything we could have needed, it really was like a home away from home!
The location could not have been better, close to shops, bars, restaurants and a 5 minute walk to Princes Street. The apartments were very private and quiet despite being so close to the city centre. Apartments had patios and parking which was a real bonus as they are unusual in Edinburgh!
We were met by Clare, who could not have been more welcoming. Overall, lovely apartments in great location. Had a perfect family holiday. Will definately be back!!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2011

My family of 4 adults shared the 3 bedroom unit at 35b Albany Street in mid-March 2011. Happy to say that the stay exceeded our expectations. The flat was even nicer than what we saw in the photos...and the photos were excellent. The unit was spotless and everything was in working order from the French press coffeepot to the wonderfully, cozy radiant heater/towel warmers in the bathrooms. The kitchen was fully equipped and there's a TESCO grocery about two blocks away. We had easy breakfast meals in the flat and then spent all day walking around the charming city of Edinburgh.

Clare O'Sullivan, the proprietor, was so friendly and helpful as we planned the trip and she met us at the front door when we arrived at the address. She runs a terrific property and leaves no detail unatteneded.

The unit has a washing marchine, dishwasher, microwave and everything else a guest needs for a trouble-free stay. So much more room than a hotel and much more affordable. This property is worth a serious look if you are seeking great accomodations for a stay in Edinburgh. It is centrally located in the New Town, less than 10 minutes from the old City near Edinburgh Castle. We walked everywhere! Safe, convenient, delightful, memorable!

We travelled to Edinburgh at the beginning of December - the snow had been particularly bad and I texted/email prior to arrival - Claire (the owner) was fantastic could not have been more accomadating and helpful. We arrived to the heating on and milk in the fridge. The apartment is A1 - clean, modern, every detail accounted for. 3 large double bedrooms - I ensuite. Beautifully decorated and presented. Perfect location for exploring Edinburgh. If you want a warm welcome and excellent customer service I would not hesitate in recommending the Albany Street apartments.
