“Noisy and Freezing!!!”

Innkeepers Lodge Edinburgh West

Dec 5, 2007

Hotel has good location, with many buses stopping right outside but this was also one of the problems, the hotel is on a main road which is very busy all night with buses and cars, I struggled to sleep at all the first night, I only slept the second night as I purchased some ear plugs in town. Room was very cold aswell especially staying in the middle of winter there was one small electric heater but with the drafty window didn't do much to warm the room. There was no heating the bathroom so this room was very cold!!! Hotel only has single glazing and the curtains were blowing wildly with the draft that was coming through. I would never stay here again.

The Innkeepers Lodge in west Edinburgh is a good value, well positioned motel for Edinburgh Airport, with friendly staff and a good sized car park.

It is not the Ritz but we only paid sixty quid a night for a double ensuite room with an excellent buffet breakfast - what more can you expect ! You can get a bus right outside into Edinburgh for a £1 and Corstophine itself has a range of shops (including a Woolworths directly opposite) and chinese and indian resturarant on the doorstep. That being said the Innkeeper, being part of the Toby chain does a two course carvery for £6.50 before 7pm. Yes it might get busy but that is only because the food, like the motel, is good value for money.

The airport is about 3 miles away and you are on the right side of Edinburgh for it. We booked this place as a well known hotel, right beside the Zoo, where we had stayed before, wanted, I believe £150 a night - my advice to anyone is to save your money and stay at the Innkeeper.

The staff make this place - they are friendly, helpful and courteous. If I return to Edinburgh I would stay at the Innkeeper again and would advise anyone wanting good basic, clean accomodation to do the same.

Had 2 days to spend in the west of Edinburgh. We booked a room for 2 people and it was £15 each per night including breakfast. When we got to the room it had 4 beds in it, one double, 2 singles and a double bed settee. In places the hotel was tired but at that price it was absolutely fantastic. Got bus into the centre which cost £1 and took 10mins plenty of buses going past. Got a taxi back (4 in it) cost us £8 in total. So very cheap and cheerful accommodation. At that price and in Edinburgh why spend more, only used room to sleep in.

The hotel is about 3 miles from the centre of Edinburgh on a main road. Buses into town are very cheap and frequent so once you get to the hotel there is no real need to use your car. Our family room was clean, spacious and warm and much to my delight had all the Sky Sports channels! Although we arrived hours before we could officially check-in, the staff on duty were very friendly and helpful and showed us to our room straight away. The hotel has a great bar and a carvery restaurant that was very popular each evening and the food was plentiful and good value. There are several restaurants and takeaways nearby so there was plenty of choice.
Brilliant value, we would definitely stay again.
