The Innkeepers Lodge in west Edinburgh is a good value, well positioned motel for Edinburgh Airport, with friendly staff and a good sized car park.
It is not the Ritz but we only paid sixty quid a night for a double ensuite room with an excellent buffet breakfast - what more can you expect ! You can get a bus right outside into Edinburgh for a £1 and Corstophine itself has a range of shops (including a Woolworths directly opposite) and chinese and indian resturarant on the doorstep. That being said the Innkeeper, being part of the Toby chain does a two course carvery for £6.50 before 7pm. Yes it might get busy but that is only because the food, like the motel, is good value for money.
The airport is about 3 miles away and you are on the right side of Edinburgh for it. We booked this place as a well known hotel, right beside the Zoo, where we had stayed before, wanted, I believe £150 a night - my advice to anyone is to save your money and stay at the Innkeeper.
The staff make this place - they are friendly, helpful and courteous. If I return to Edinburgh I would stay at the Innkeeper again and would advise anyone wanting good basic, clean accomodation to do the same.
