I've stayed here three times now and have had lovely experiences each time. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and I appreciate having the ability to make tea or coffee available in the room. The kitchen/breakfast room is very light and bright and Edna makes it feel more like having breakfast at a friends house than at a guest house.
There are several buses close by that go directly to the center which makes getting into town if walking there doesn't appeal. It's also within an easy walk to Ocean Terminal and the Royal Britannia.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Pillars house was originally built and owned by Crawford which were offices and a spirit store in the late 18th century. Most of the building still has a lot of its character left as you can see as you walk in through the main entrance. The courtyard where our free parking is situated was traditionally used as the delivery entrance where the horse and carts brought the whiskey from the highlands to be blended. ... more less
