“What's not to like at the Aaran Lodge Guest House?!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

We made a last minute decision to attend The Fringe Festival and so were surprised and delighted to find accommodation at the Aaran Lodge Guest House on Milton Rd East - next to The Edinburgh College. (not to be confused with 'The Aaron Lodge' on the Old Dalkeith Road!!) Plush carpets, lots of cushions and tassels, spotless linen, spotless bathroom and so comfy bed in a spacious room. Beautifully cooked breakfast. Regular buses 24 hrs on the doorstep to and from the city. Nearby Portobello offers wonderful walking along the beach and the Esplanade. Take a breather at the Espy! Great pub and grub! A taxi to Leith takes you to fine dining eateries. Experience fabulous food byTony Borthwick and his team at The Plumed Horse on Henderson Street! So glad Theresa was able to accommodate us! A fabulous Festival experience in every way!

This was our second stay at Aaran Lodge , we came for the Fringe and would highly recommend. The owner had to stay up to greet us after a delayed BA flight from London (01:00 am ! ) but everything was ready , were shown straight to our room and had a good nights sleep on very comfy mattresses. Breakfasts are good and the atmosphere in the dining room is very friendly with lots of chit chat amongst the guests. Location may seem far on the map but it isn't., We walked 5 minutes to Brunstane rail station for a 10 minute ride into Waverley station and Princes st. Rooms are spacious and the beds very comfy. The owner is very helpful and the staff very welcoming.Wifi reception wasn't strong enough so they changed the router on the spot and fixed the problem! Would definitely go back when we are next in Edinburgh.

The first weekend in august it is really hard to get a decent hotel location. The tourist info advised us Aaran Lodge. It's only a couple of minutes away of the centre, by train or by bus. Our room was perfect.

What a wonderful stay we had here with friends . The place is so clean and spotless . The rooms are excellent and on the big size with a good big flat screen tv . Good travel into the center of the city from here as the bus stop is outside guest house . Very cheap and quick to go into Edinburgh . Really enjoyed the breakfast so well cooked . Would recommend to anyone .

Thank you for the wonderful stay we had here . The place is so clean and spotless . The room was a very good size and very nice décor . There is a bus stop outside the B&B to get into the city and it only cost £1.50 or £3.50 for an all day pass and it only takes about 18mins. This is such a friendly place and the breakfast is delicious , all that you could want or need to set u up for the day ..

Great spot to stay in, very friendly, very clean, great breakfast. Good bar in hotel next door for those wanting a wee drink before bedtime. Would be hard to find better in the area. Highly recommend it.
