We stayed here for three nights in a skyline room. The hotel was everything that others have said it was - clean, modern, very quiet with a great location a few minutes walk to everything. We had dinner in the hotel one night and it was reasonably priced and of surprisingly good quality. Breakfast was perfectly fine, although we did have tea and toast at a cafe on Nicolson Street (around the corner) for only 5 GBP for two, but this place had rude staff but great tea and coffee.
The room itself was enormous with a fantastic view over Arthur's seat - if you get a free half day you should walk around Holyrood Park - what a place!
We had no trouble parking for two of the three nights, and parked on the street for free for the other night.
Like the OP have said, the shower did leak because the glass screen did not quite fit over the bath to exclude water properly even with conservative flow! But other than this, we had a perfect stay in a great little place.
Would thoroughly recommend.
