It is great to find a hotel which is everything it claims to be. Great location, clean and comfortable rooms, obliging and courteous staff. We did not opt for breakfast but it looked inviting. Fee internet to rooms although large upload files appeared to be blocked so not good for uploading reasonably sized photographs top on-line albums but that's just a minor quibble.

I have just returned from a loveky weekend in Edinburgh with my boyfriend. We stayed at this hotel based mainly on reviews. The location was really good esp for the Royal Mile and the hotel itself was nice and clean. We arrived very early on our first day and our room was ready which was great! Reception staff and helpful but not very friendly.

On our first morning we ordered our breakfast to our room....the choice on this menu was not great so we both ordered the sausage and bacon roll and fruit. It turned out to be a small bap with one rubbery sausage and one rasher....the fruit consisted of tinned orange and grapefruit....overall this was not fulfilling and v disappointing! The next morning we decided it would be better to go to the buffet was basically had the same tinned fruit and rubbery sausages! The breakfast was included in our room rate luckily as otherwise you are expected to pay £10 per person for this nasty food!

All in all though the hotel is very good and I would certainly recommend it on the basis of location and nice rooms, however I would suggest you would not pay for breakfast here and insteag find a lovely place on the Royal Mile for breakfast.

We stayed at 10 Hill Place for 2 nights. We arrived early and our bags were put into a locked room and we were given a time when our room was likely to be ready. We went out for a bit, returned on time, and our room was ready. The rooms, as noted elsewhere, are modern, which may not suit everyone. It's not my favorite style, but I thought the room was done up well. And it was quiet, always a concern for me (light sleeper). My only complain about the facility is the lack of choices on TV, but then again, I didn't go to Scotland to watch TV! Good service, excellent facility, lots of pubs and restaurants nearby, excellent location for exploring old town.

Great place to stay. Very nice, clean, the biggest rooms I've seen in traveling around Europe and the UK. We would totally stay here again. Its about a 10 min walk to the Royal Mile, nothing major. While there walk to Waverly Bridge, buy the Royal Pass an see everything! We would surely stay here again!
