My husband and I stayed at Ten Hill Place in Edinburgh for 4 nights in June 2008. We were placed in room #418, which was average in size (not too big or too small); but the bathroom was rather large and spacious. The shower was nice and there was good water pressure.
The decor was nice and pretty modern and the bed was comfy. There was a desk & chair, a single chair, a big closet, a full length mirror, a tall TV console, a flat screen TV, a towel warmer-rack in the bathroom and ample counter space for toiletries.
The hotel itself was located off the main road, so there was no traffic or bus noise. We didn't have a view of anything extraordinary, rather the apartment building next door, but the big picture window was great for letting in light (which at this time of year lasted till almost 10 PM).
Walking from the hotel to the main streets in Edinburgh took us about 10-15 mins (to Royal Mile and Princes Street). However, there are a variety of shops and restaurants just 2 minutes from the hotel (KFC was at the corner) if you're looking to grab a cup of coffee or a snack.
Our room rate (which we found on the hotel website) included a bottle of champagne on arrival and daily breakfast, which was pretty good. The hotel offered the following items each day:
Black pudding, ham, baked beans, veggie sausages, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, pork sausages, various breads, fruits and cereals. There was also a small assortment of cold cuts and cheese.
Overall, it was a good experience for us and we'd definitely stay here again!
