Stayed here on business in Feb 2008. Had one of the skyline suites at a good rate. What a great room and what a great view over the rooftops of the city. This is a well located hotel with good rooms, free broadband, pleasant receptionists and a reasonable bar / breakfast

5 minutes walk south of the castle. Good hotel

We stayed at the Ten Hill Place Hotel from 8-10th February 2008. The hotel is pretty central (less than 10 minutes walk to the Royal Mile, 5 minutes walk to the Grassmarket, 15 minutes to Princes Street).

Staying at this hotel was a really nice experience. It was spotless. The rooms were lovely and modern with comfortable beds, a safe, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary bottles of water, and the all important packets of shortbread. Others have mentioned the glass bathroom door. Its not a big issue but I wasn't a big fan of it.

I know alot of people have mentioned the issue of the small dining room and the waiting at breakfast. I was a bit concerned about this but it wasn't a problem. The staff were very professional and on both mornings were very quick to get us seated at a table, generally in less than 10 minutes. As we weren't in a rush for anything it was completely fine. The breakfast itself is great. It is buffet style and you can get a full cooked breakfast, cereals, meats and cheeses, etc. Even though it was busy for breakfast, the staff continuously replenished the food, so there was no danger of anyone going hungry!

I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. It is nice and quiet but at the same time you don't feel out of the way of things as everything is a short walk away.

A final word on the staff - they were really helpful and friendly - what more could you ask for?

Very central quiet location. Great rooms and facilities - with a cheap deal over the internet this hotel is hard to beat.

We have just returned from our stay at this Hotel and I couldn’t wait to get on here to tell you all how fantastic this hotel is.

Location
The hotel is in a great location a 5/10 min walk to the royal mile and a 10/15 min walk to Princess street (aka shopping st) and Rose st (Aka Pub st (34 pubs all on one st!!) The walk is along a main road that has several bars/Shops etc and should you not fancy the walk back (If like us after one to many whiskeys(!)) a taxi costs £3-bargain!!

The Hotel
The Hotel is very modern- (Flat screen TV's, Internet access and an overall modern look)
The Hotel was extremely clean and staff ever so helpful - The reception staff excelled and where eager to help in every without being pushy -making restaurant reservations, Taxis, Luggage storage (even locking my laptop in an office for extra security!)


The Room
Our room was cosy -It has been said in other reports that the rooms are small - We didn’t find this to be the case.
The room had everything you would need –
Iron and board! Hairdryer (that actually managed to dry my hair -unlike most hotel hairdryers !) Tea/Coffee Making facilities, Complimentary Toiletries, and flat screen TVs -with films and games available.
The room was extremely clean and yet again had a very modern look to it.

The Breakfast
A fantastic Selection-Full Scottish (including haggis!!)Cereal, Toast, Eggs/Porridge made to order, Yogurts, Fruit, meats, cheese, pastries. - All the food looked and tasted fresh and was one of the best Hotel Brekkies we have had.

Should we ever return to Edinburgh I would certainly stay here again.
