What a find!!!

Excellent service, sleek surroundings and a fantastic breakfast - all at a reasnable price.

For a weekend stay this hotel is ideal only 10min walk from the royal mile and so the castle.

We much prefer smaller hotels and so this was ideal.

Would recommend this to anyone looking for a short stay hotel in Edinburgh.

We were delighted to get one of the rooms on the top floor upon arrival as we had also got a good rate on the room. The service was excellent, the room was fab, comfy beds, great decor and I also loved the location. 5 mins walk from Royal mile and another 10 mins to Princes St.
There was a great little Asian grocers across the road that I would recommend for finding things not normally available in supermarkets and there were lots of shops, restaurants etc nearby.
I will be recommending this hotel to friends and family and would definitely use again for another short break in Edinburgh.

stayed for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary and totally love this hotel.
It is just behind the surgeons museum and in fact linked to the surgeons museum as it donates its profits to the upkeep and education.
This means that it is very close to the university, but the area is very vibrant with lots of reasonably priced eateries and it is also 200 yards from the Festival theatre.

a 15-20 min walk to the Royal mile and a futher 5 mins to Princes street.

Rooms are very well appointed and very clean, the only little criticism would be the bathroom is a wetroom with a granite floor
which is soaked after use, however thsi is only a minor thing dont let it stop you going.

Breakfast is lovely if you time it right, which we did, if the breakfast room , which is a little small for the size of the hotel, is full you may have to wait, but the staff cleared up and got people seated as quickly as poss. There is a full hot buffet or continental option along with toast and cereals juices and tea/coffee.
All in All an excellant choice of hotel, we were very happy.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel just for one night in September 2007. The location is fantastic, its situated in a quiet area, on a quiet road, walking distance from all of the attractions, but far enough away to avoid noise from the bars etc on the Royal Mile.

The reception was spotless, and the hotel bar was great for pre-meal drinks, as there are a number of good bars and restaurants nearby.

The room itself was gorgeous, the bed was massive, and very comfortable. The colours used in the room made it seem very sophisticated, and the huge plasma screen added to this feel. The bathroom was clean and modern, and very bright, which was good as it had no windows in.

All in all I enjoyed my stay here very much, and would definitely return. I recommend shopping around for a good price, as the hotel stated they charge £125 a night, however, on various websites i found the same rooms available for half the price.
