“Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

We stayed at the Lindsay Guest House in May for 3 nights with 4 German friends. We split the stay whilst going on a short coach trip and Keith was very accommodating re our car and all other issues. The accommodation is excellent-a lovely house well furnished and the bedrooms are all nice. The family room at the top is super with a massive bed. The breakfasts were well cooked and substantial and the location was wonderful-buses outside,10 minutes from the centre and a nice 30 minute walk along the canal, weather permitting. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms good but family room extra large with good views and a massive bed.

We spent 2 nights in this very comfortable Guest House. It was overall a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Private off street parking provided and public transport to city centre right out front! The owners are very welcoming, rooms clean and surprisingly large. Breakfast is fantastic, something for everyone. The coffee offered was a plunger coffee and excellent in flavour. All in all a great find and we would recommend this Guest House to anyone wanting to visit Edinburgh.

We stayed at the Lindsay Guest House for 2 nights while visiting Edinburgh for sightseeing and attending 2 concerts. We chose the Guest House after reading reviews on TripAdvisor.

Very convenient to the City Centre with a good bus service and a nice walk along the canal. Murrayfield was close by.

The breakfast was delicious and generous. The twin room was a good size, clean and quiet. The hosts were very friendly and attentive.

I would certainly recommend and hope to be back in the near future.

We've just returned from our second visit to the Lindsay Guest House and can't wait to visit again in August. We discovered the Lindsay last year when we visited Edinburgh for the Tattoo. While a little bit out of the city centre it is still within walking distance (about half an hour) but there is an excellent bus service right from the end of the driveway. The longest we had to wait for a bus was 10 minutes so it is very convenient. Our room this visit was on the front (previously was a room at the back). We were a little worried about the noise from the road but the secondary double glazing took care of that and, combined with the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, ensured a good night's sleep. The room itself was vast and the bathroom was immaculate. It's the little touches that help and the daily supply of sweets along with fresh biscuits and tea and coffee are a very nice thought. Breakfast was superb and set us up for the day exploring the city. Would recommend to anyone.

Lindsay Guesthouse Edinburgh, UK, a great place to stay in Edinburgh. The friendly and helpful hosts, Pam and Keith provide a sumptuous breakfast, comfortable room with ensuite bathroom. The crisp, fresh bedroom and bathroom linen helped to make me feel at home. This guest house is comfortably situated on the bus route to all places worth visiting and is within walking distance to the Castle and Old Town. The Hogmanay festival was awesome. I would like to do Hogmanay again and stay at Lindsay Guesthouse again!

Room Tip: The rooms are all lovely!

I stayed in a single room with private shower. Keith was very friendly and helpful. He gave me a lot of information about nearby grocery stores, etc. The bathroom was very clean and seemed to be quite new. The room itself was very clean, too - it was equipped with TV, washbasin, hair-dryer, and tea making facilities. Rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily. The guest house is located outside the city centre in a quiet neighbourhood. For those travelling without a car: there's a bus stop very close to the house (take line 10 or 27 and get off at "grays loan" when coming from the city centre). The breakfast was very good, too.
The private bathroom isn't directly connected to the single room - it's two doors down the corridor, but that's only a small minus.

We decided to stay overnight in Edinburgh at the last minute and chose Lindsay Guesthouse online. The other complimentary reviews helped us decide and we weren't disappointed. Our room at the front of the building was lovely, and although the water pressure in the ensuite wasn't terrific, the bathroom facilities were very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the welcome was warm. Good breakfast too!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are on the main road but the noise levels were fine, due to effective secondary g...
