Stayed one night and was blown away by the incredibly helpful staff, fabulous amenities, and fantastic location just a 3 minute walk from the Royal Mile. The hostel was super clean with a great cafe that served adequate food and easy internet access. We were leaving late the next day and they provided a safe and secure luggage room for our bags as we spent the afternoon walking High Street. It really is the location that makes this place outstanding but it is well maintained and managed. There are laundry facilities on site and a great kitchen to prepare your own meals if you wish. Everyone was very friendly. The rooms were better than what you might expect for a hostel with en suite showers and toilet. The bunk style beds were just fine with sheets and comforter. Great place to stay and well worth the little extra over the usual charges for a hostel.

This is one of best hostels I've seen. It is better than some chain hotels, the rooms are nice, clean linen, internet terminals, food, great location in Edinburgh. Staff are friendly too. HIghly recommended.

We stayed here for 1 night and I really liked this hostel. Brand new, despite it is located in an old building, very clean and functional. The common areas are very good and the member's kitchen has everything if you prefer to prepare your own meals, just bring the food: refrigerators (4), stoves, kettle, micro-wave, oven and kitchen equipment...everything is clean and please ensure that you leave it just like as you've found it! I prepared my meals, so I can't speak about the quality/price of the self-service.
We were in a twin room, it is not very big but has enough space and 2 big lockers to put your things. The room had bathroom (very very clean and functional) and they provide you bath gel and hand cream (not usual in a hostel).
The location is perfect!! At about 100m of the Royal Mile, really in the center and at 5 min walking to Princes Street (Waverley Train Station, big shops, McDonald's, Marks&Spencer...). It is about 10 min walking from Hollyrood Palace & bus station and you have a Tesco near.
Edinburgh is a beautiful city and don't miss many of its attractions. If you enjoy walking please go to Calton Hill and Hollyrood Park where are two big mountains that you HAVE to climb!!!If you have nice weather enjoy the view...it is worth the effort.....

The place was very clean. Friendly staff. Excellent location, its just off the Royal Mile. Nice buffet breakfast. Had a games room and lounge area and internet access services. Just as good as a four star hotel in my opinion! Its worth every penny. Highly recommend to those looking for a nice place to stay but is on a budget.

I must say that this hostel is a good value for money but it is AN HOSTEL...I have read many reviews on this site, saying all bad things about the place, but where else can you find a twin room in this city for £58 per night? The problem is that people tend to make a mistake between the word HOTEL and HOSTEL...it's a quite different kind of accomodation with a every different feeling to it! Don't go just for the low prices you cheap [--]!
As an hostel it's very well equiped; free internet (don't get that in many places nowadays), perfect central location as well as a bar serving good food a cheap drink (considering the UK average!). The prices could be cheaper, but, there's no such thing as perfection. Overall good place to sleep in Edinburgh. Noisy, cheerfull, clean, safe...good, mainly for the younger crew, stag and hen partys! Very near to every cool bar in town as well...
PS. If you're looking for a cheap hotel, look for a cheap hotel, rather than an hostel! You will be disapointed and will end up putting bad reviews for cool places such as this!
