Having stayed in many a hotel on my travels, some have been terrible and some outstanding! This little gem certainly falls into the latter.
We booked and stayed at Le Monde in early March on recomendation and were certainly glad of it. After checking in to the helpful cheery receptionist and freshening up in our room we visited the stunning Vienna bar for a few early evening drinks, moving on to the Paris cocktail bar for dinner(an excellent menu) we both thouroughly enjoyed this. (especially the Duck Confit it was delightful) service was brilliant, swift and proffesional.
We were very kindly taken down to the club in their lift by a very helpful and kind young gentleman(think he was the duty manager) what a great place!! we felt like VIP's. obviously the in place to be in George st at the moment. Being of some 'middle age' we retired to our room Tokyo before the club closed, you could still hear a little noise outside but what would you expect staying in a lively City Centre Hotel.
The room was fabulous with lots of little quirky things going on. a very stylish quality themed room which oozes luxury and relaxation - the huge bathroom is lovely.

Overall a wonderful experience which will be repeated, well done Le Monde.

Being a regular at Le Monde and Shanghai I thought it time to try the hotel. Staying in the hotel really was a night of luxury. The room we stayed in was gorgeous, with an amazingly comfy bed and the best shower I have ever been in! The room had several tv's and we took advantage of the dvd's themed to the room. We had dinner in the restaurant, Vienna, cocktails in Paris, and went to the nightclub, Shanghai for an awesome night, all in the same building! It was great at the end of the night to simply jump in the lift from the nightclub (after getting VIP access with our welcome package to the hotel) straight up to our hotel room, with chocolates on our pillows and a little jug of milk in the fridge for a cup of tea! We were able to have a late check out so we had time to wash away a fuzzy head in the huge shower filled with Molton Brown products, lovely!

An overpriced hotel pretending to be something it's not.
Unclean room with dated plasma tv that didn't recieve channels/radio/alarm or info. A minibar with half consumed items, a toilet that didn;t flush, lights that didn't work , dust everywhere and staff that just didn't care.
As for the restaurant 1hr wait for the starter then a further hour for the main meal which arrived cold. The head waiter ! was more intrested in chatting up the young female groups than serving guests. Not bad for a £320 '1' night romance package!!!!
You can get to sleep about 4am after the music and partygoers disperse from the 18-20 year olds disco in the basement.
Never again, book The George Hotel or The Sheraton or Even the Hilton for a far superior, cleaner hotel and where there guests are actually cared for , Unlike this place.

As my husband and I don't get away very often with having two young kids, we decided to splash out for one night in this hotel. Having stayed in Tigerlily before, we thought that this hotel would be of the same standard. How I wish I had taken on board some of the comments left about this place! We stayed in LA, one of the top rooms. It was a nice room, very modern and clean. We noticed the remote for the bathroom tv was missing so reported it on our way out to do some shopping. We came back to find there was still no remote. We told them again while we went to get our free drink, which thankfully we weren't in a hurry for as it took forever to get served. Back to the room to discover no remote again, so we went back down thinking third time lucky but were told the tv was broken and wouldn't be fixed for a few days. Paying £295 for a room with the main feature being the bath and tv we were really not happy. We also discovered the coffee machine was broken, and as for the noise levels, we thought we were actually sleeping in the bar area until 3 am. All they offered us was £20 off the room rate, and in the morning the woman couldn't have been any more unfriendly if she tried. No conversation whatsoever, we just paid the bill and left without a goodbye. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone after the service we received. Tigerlily is much much nicer!

Came to Edinburgh for the weekend and chose to stay at Le Monde because of its city centre location.
What a wonderful hotel!
Everthing and everyone from the staff, to the service to the room were excellent.
WE stayed in the London room, on the 3rd floor as we were advised that the streets can be noisy during weekends.
The room was lovely. It makes you feel like you are in London. The room had everything one could ask for! a large plasma tv, dvd player, tassimo coffee machine, bathrobes, molton brown products and the best of all a TV IN THE BATHROOM!
The hotel offers a wii on request, which we did use and enjoyed playing on the huge tv.
We tried the food in the Paris restaurant. The atmospehere, food and service were excellent. Perfect for a romantic meal for 2. We especially enjoyed the cocktails at the bar in Paris. We headed to the nightclub on the Saturday night using the VIP passes given to us on check in. THe club was very vibrant and that was a perfect ending to our night.
We had a really good nights sleep. The beds were the most comfortable I have slept in.
We enjoyed our weekend thoroughly and thought it was worth the money spent. We loved all the little touches like the chocolates on our beds in the evening to the slippers to the themed movies and music in the room.
I will be back and do recommend the hotel to everyone looking for a fun weekend break! Only next time, I hope to try a junior suite
