May and James have got it just right -- they have created a stylish, friendly guest house with large comfortable rooms, great breakfast and the hands on personal touches which makes you go back again and again. I wouldn't say anywhere else in Edinburgh.

We stayed 2 nights during the festival, and we were lucky to get such a great place for a reasonable price. The room with en-suite was clean and tastefully decorated. The staff and owners were friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome. As we were there for the festival, it was handy to be so close to The Pleasance. The only minor complaint would be the noise from Dalkeith Road first thing in the morning, but it wasn't too bad and our room at the front had a great view of Arthur's Seat from the window. All in all I would recommend MW Guesthouse for a visit to Edinburgh, and we hope to go back there again next year.

We were very pleased with the MW guesthouse. James and May are very friendly and helpful. The guesthouse is in a great location (esp. for the Fringe and Royal Mile) and busses are easy and reasonable. The staff is excellent. Rooms are clean and cozy with very clean bathrooms. Breakfast was yummy and plentiful. The stairs are steep, however, and that may be an issue for some guests. Otherwise- we would stay there again for sure! Thanks James and May for a lovely couple of nights.

We stayed for 3 nights for husbands 40th birthday. The staff there go out of their way to be helpful ensuring you have plenty information about Edinburgh, sights to see etc. They also have bus numbers in case you dont want to walk to the centre although walking only takes 15 - 20 minutes.
The rooms are really spacious and clean no complaints there.
We would definately use this guest house again if we were to go back to Edinburgh.
