Just returned from our first visit to Edinburgh - what a beautiful City. The MW Townhouse is a good quality B&B located close to the centre of of Edinburgh and on a regular bus route. House has many original features and our room was a very good size (there were three of us - two adults and a child age 8) with modern, clean facilities, satellite TV and an en-suite. Internet access is available free of charge. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of full cooked or continental options. Service was excellent and although the cost was a little on the high side (comparable with some hotels), it was value for money. We enjoyed our stay and would return again in the future.

We liked our stay very much. May and Katie were very helpful and friendly. The room was small but very clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom spacious and in good working order, the decor elegant--no complaints. We were disappointed the phone system was not working for our 6 days there. I was not impressed with the food in Scotland, in general, so I think MW Townhouse did a very good job, considering. When I first looked at accomodations in Edinburgh, I overlooked that B&B's prices are per person rather than per room, so they looked like a much better deal than hotels (for 2 people). If I were to go again I'd look again at hotels since I imagine amenities like telephone would be more reliable.

This was my second stay with MW.

Its in a good location. 10 mins from Princess Street on the bus and 5 in a taxi. However, if you're on a tight budget go for the bus, which is a pound or about 2.50 for a day pass. Taxi into Edinburgh worked out between 6 and 7 pounds on average.

Rooms are big and very clean. Plenty of cupboard space to hang your clothes. Both rooms I've stayed in were ensuite. I think all rooms in
the hotel are. Only negative I have about the room was that the toilet was loose and moved around when you sat down on it!

The staff are very pleasant and helpful. At breakfast they were always there to attend to your needs, held friendly conversation with you and checked how your stay in the hotel and city was going. Also on arrival they give me a map to the city and listed the buses I could get into the centre from outside the hotel.

Overall, I'd say this was a great place to stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a short stay in Edinburgh.

Have just returned from a fabulous weekend in Edinburgh. A large group of us stayed at the MW Townhouse and found it to be an excellent find. The majority of the rooms were large and all were extremely clean and nicely decorated
The staff were excellent, all very friendly and accomodating. It was also a nice touch that the owner ensured that she talked to all of her guests at breakfast and seemed genuinly interested in how you were enjoying your stay.
The townhouse is fairly close to Edinburgh centre. It is about a 20 minutes walk to the Royal mile and about six pounds in a cab.
Overall a very good b&b with very nice staff.
