I cannot say enough great things about The Abercorn. We had such a nice stay there. We arrived at The Abercorn on our third day in Scotland. We had already had some bad experiences with some other establishments and I was weary about what we would find here. I wish I had booked all of my nights in Scotland at The Abercorn. Angela and her family were great. The house is very clean and well kept. Very clean bathroom and clean sheets. We loved our room. I can't remember the room number but as soon as you walk in the door it was the first room on the right. Angela had recommended a restaurant that night for dinner, The Dome. What a spectacular place with great food. Best dinner of the whole trip. The breakfast at the Abercorn the next morning was fabulous. Everything was so fresh and tasted great.
Fabulous Guest House and even more fabulous was Angela.
I will go back.

What a wonderful guesthouse and wonderful proprietors.
We stayed for four nights and the accommodation was second to none. Litlle personal touches were lovely like fresh flowers and wine in our room. The breakfast was perfect and set us up for the day ahead. The location is perfect and the beach just 5mins away for a lovely walk to start off your day. Even though the bus service was brilliant we walked into Edinburgh City on 2 days to take in all the sights along the way. On other evenings we stayed locally and Select Restaurant and Barelio Wine bar just minutes away when turning left when leaving the Guesdhouse were lovely experiences.
Would highly recommend the Abercorn Guesthouse.

We travelled to Edinburgh for the first time and decided to stay at the Abercorn Guest House after reading its excellent reviews. It is situated in a wonderful place called Portobello, located by the seaside and only a short journey to the city centre. The local beach, park, restaurants, shops and pubs are only a 2mins walk away from the Guest House, which was great!

On arriving at the Abercorn, Angela was most welcoming and friendly woman showing us to our beautifully decorated room, with fersh flowers and bringing us a pot of tea, which was great after a long trip!!!! We felt just at home!!! Angela was great in recommending us local places to eat, as well as attractions to visit in the capital, from booking taxis and reserving tables in lovely restaurants. We could not have asked for a better host for our stay!

We looked forward to having Scottish breakfast in the morning, which was freshly and delicioulsy prepared, especially sausages!!!!! We enjoyed chats with Angela´s father John.

We would definatly recommend the Abercorn Guest House as a great place to stay, and cannot wait to come back in the near future!!!

We travelled up in terrible weather. On arrival we were met by Angela and her husband. It was as if we meeting old friends again although we had not stayed here before. The Abercorn reception was warm, friendly and inviting. Having been shown our rooms a large welcoming pot of tea was brought up to us. This was just the start to a most enjoyable two nights stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautifully appointed and spotless and we even had complimentary wine in each room on arrival (a really nice touch).
Breakfast was ordered the night before to ensure you had exactly what you wanted. It was beautifully cooked. A full Scottish breakfast, 'The works!!! and the man in charge of the dining room (Angela’s dad) was great and really looked after us.
I have stayed in many hotels over the years but the Abercorn rates very highly on my list and we will most definitely come here again.
We can only say thanks again to Angela and the family and look forward to seeing you all again in the not too distant future.
