We travelled up in terrible weather. On arrival we were met by Angela and her husband. It was as if we meeting old friends again although we had not stayed here before. The Abercorn reception was warm, friendly and inviting. Having been shown our rooms a large welcoming pot of tea was brought up to us. This was just the start to a most enjoyable two nights stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautifully appointed and spotless and we even had complimentary wine in each room on arrival (a really nice touch).
Breakfast was ordered the night before to ensure you had exactly what you wanted. It was beautifully cooked. A full Scottish breakfast, 'The works!!! and the man in charge of the dining room (Angela’s dad) was great and really looked after us.
I have stayed in many hotels over the years but the Abercorn rates very highly on my list and we will most definitely come here again.
We can only say thanks again to Angela and the family and look forward to seeing you all again in the not too distant future.

We were so lucky we found Abercorn guesthouse in the tripadvisor and did not have any doubt why they got all the nice reviews. Once we arrived at Abercorn guesthouse, we were treated like one of their family members. The weather outside was very cold and windy when we arrived. Angela offered us a pot of English tea which was a nice touch.
The place is sooo beautiful and we had problems choosing our rooms!!! as all the rooms are magnificent with full amenities in room that we did not know which one was the best!!!!
Angela recommended us a restaurant nearby which was one of our best restaurants during this trip.
Going to downtown Edinburgh by bus was very convenient. Bus no. 26 at UK2.50 per person for a one day card. Bus stop is right in front of the house.
In the morning, Angela and Dad cooked us breakfast with the background of the nice music. The breakfast room and the conservatory was again so beautiful. Breakfast was so good. Thank you Dad and Angela to make our trip so memorable. Abercorn guesthouse is definitly our best place among all our accommodations in Europe and we will definitely come back.

What a wonderful place to stay in Edinburgh, Scotland. The B&B is a beautifully restored Victorian house. We needed to find a B&B that could accomodate my wife, college aged son, and myself in a suite. Our suite was beautiful, spotless and very comfortable. Located on the bus route, we found it easy to travel into the Royal Mile to visit many of the local attractions. Breakfasts were delicious and the owners were just terrific. They were very helpful in locating restuarants, tourist attractions, shopping, etc. They even provided us an early breakfast (6:30 am) on the day we needed to leave. I would recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to Edinburgh. It is a real gem.

We spent 34 hours travelling from the time we left our home in Melbourne, Australia, to the time we walked through the front door of the Abercorn Guest House in Edinburgh. It was too early to access our room, but we were welcomed by the lovely Angela and given a big pot of tea and biscuits in the sun room before being sent out with maps and directions to do some exploring. When we returned, we could not have been happier with our lovely room, which was both strikingly decorated and comfortable. The breakfast is generous, tasty and filling, the city is close with an excellent bus service, and there is a variety of local eateries.
We could not have had a better start to our holiday, and would definitely return to Angela's generous hospitality.

Beautiful home, lovely hosts Angela and her Father could not do enough for you. Food was fabulous, accomodation was great nice and quiet and also lovely and clean, It was also a stones throw from Edinburgh by bus. Even though we had a car we did exactly that, we went in by bus it was much better than trying to park somewhere. Also just across the road there is a great chinease restaurant, and if you do not like chinease there are a few more restaurants along the road. We will stay there again as we are going to a friends 40th birthday party next year. Love it.
