We just got back from the UK and we stayed in 4 b&b places and once in a hotel. The Abercorn House was one of the best places we have ever stayed.

Angela has a golden heart and you feel like you are a guest in her house - not a customer. Our kids (age of 9, 7 & 2) had great time there, too. The breakfast and the rooms are A+. There was plenty of space to park the car next to the house which was also very convenient.

I will certainly book a room at the Abercorn house in my next trip to Edinburgh.

Best B&B I have ever been, rooms are spotless , food is excellent and Angela is just the most charming woman I met during my trips. Portobello is a lovely village and I felt absolutely safe and comfortable.
I recommend it to a lot of people and will always choose ABERCORN GUEST HOUSE when I plan to travel to Edinburgh.

We can thoroughly recommend this guest house. Family run, very comfortable and friendly. This was our third stay and have already booked for next year and looking forwards to it.

Sorry Angela loved your house but found the location not at all nice Portobello is a small district and could be nice but seems to have loads of lost teenagers wandering about in the evening some quite scary !! we arrived from the north and did not feel like going into town so we went into Portobello for dinner and were most dissapointed restuarant fine but walking there and back did not feel comfotable not a nice experience.

Management response from dorans McDonald, owner

So sorry you did not feel comfortable in Portobello, the area we really love, and the reason many guests return to the area, its such a shame but I think on the particular night mentioned ,you have been sadly very unlucky, because many lost teenagers hanging around is not the normal, hopefully you enjoyed the rest of your trip.

Kind Regards,
Angela.

We stayed at the Abercorn for one night on our way back to Edinburgh Airport. A lovely B&B like home from home. Angela and Jimmy made us so welcome. The breakfast was by far one of the best we have had. The ambience of the B&B was fantastic welcoming, warm and friendly.
