Our second visit. This time with Daughter and new son-in-law. As last time, everything was wonderful. Angela McDonald makes you feel at home and her Father John is truly a warm and kind gentelmen. He was very helpful in booking our day trip to Loch Ness and arranging the round of golf at St. Andrews. Being on the bus line makes for easy trips into Edinburgh, several great places to eat nearby and enjoyed the shopping including the bargains at the charity shops. Even Molly the cat was enjoyable.

Wine and Flowers in room--delightful !!

For travelers who seldom use B&B's, this is a wonderful spot for us and we can't wait to get back--sems like home now.

Breakfast was great and WONDERFUL coffee.

Easy to find on the Edinburgh bus system. Our hostess Angela was delightful, offering warm Scottish hospitality. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was superb. First class B&B in Edinburgh and well worth the money. 5 minute walk to the Portobello beach and enjoyed the scenery there. We would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and classy place in Edinburgh.

We had the delightful opportunity to spend a week at the Abercorn B&B after locating it on Tripadvisor.co. Our stay turned out to be one of the most positive travel experiences in Scotland that we have ever had, as proprietors Angela and Bill MacDonald welcomed us with their friendly hospitality, their beautiful, immaculate accommodations, excellent homemade breakfasts, and friendly ways.

Conveniently located approximately 15-20 minutes from Edinburgh City Center and a stone's throw from the North Sea, the Abercorn is everything you could possible want in lodging. Located directly across the street from neighborhood stores, restaurants, a post office drop, an interesting tie maker and Bus Stop 26, the Abercorn's location is desirable year round. Outside gardens make the grounds particularly lovely and a perfect spot for watching birds and other wildlife. Visitors may enjoy the attributes of Edinburgh's City life and, also, the serenity of this lovely home and gardens.

The McDonald's obviously enjoy what they do and do it very well. We were made to feel extremely welcomed by Bill, Angela, their children and Angela's father who is a delightful gentleman.
They were always attentive to our travel needs, arranging for taxis, restaurant reservations, tours and even taking care of a crisis when we left a bag of souveniers at a restaurant one evening.

We happened to be staying at the Abercorn during our wedding week (we were married at the Edinburgh Castle) and Angela was instrumental in helping us arrange for flowers and a luncheon following the event. Our 11 year old daughter felt right at home at this lovely Guest House (so much that she is planning her own honeymoon there!)

Our feelings are so strong that should we return to Scotland, we would definitely stay there again and will encourage others to do the same. This is one B & B you don't want to miss.

The Abercorn Guest House is the most fabulous, friendly and welcoming home in Scotland. We have stayed with this wonderful family numerous times (two or three times a year for many years). Angela and her family are the most delightful you will ever meet. The accomodations are decorated with the most gorgeous fabrics and excellent taste. But the MacDonald family provide an incredible warmth and care. The breakfasts are superb and you will fall in love with the family. We plan our trips around Abercorn's availability. A must stay!

We stayed in the Abercorn Guest House for a long weekend and it was wonderful. Angela made us feel at home stright away. The food was superb and the rooms bright and comfortable. The bus to the city centre was directly out side and the beach a 3 min walk away.

If you are planning on going to Edinburgh stay with Angela in the Abercorn Guest House you certainly won't regret it and as we found it will probably make your holiday all the more perfect.

My only regret was not being able to stay longer. I am looking forward to going back.
