Firstly - this is an excellently appointed B&B - far above the standard you would normally expect.

The only negative - the area that the B&B is in, isn't the most picturesque. The positive - is that it is on the main bus route into Edinburgh - and we found the buses both reasonably priced and frequent.

Carolyn was both warm and informative - providing some useful advice, and seeming to take a genuine interest in the reason for our visit to Edinburgh.

The rooms are extremely comfortable and well appointed - with excellent en-suite, no bath unfortunately, but excellent shower. All the usual tea and coffee making facilities - with complementary biscuits etc.

A nice touch - the day we were leaving they left us leave our car in the private car park all day - even let us freshen up when we returned prior to our journey home.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this B&B - not only for the extremely well appointed and comfortable rooms - but the warmth of the welcome we were offered.

Hi was at the Aaron Glen Guesthouse in April 2013. I really enjoyed my stay there, the room was very comfortable, the people most welcoming and the breakfasts remarkable.
The location was a little too far out, most likely not an option if you don't have your own car.

I would endorse the excellent reviews already on here. We arrived on a Monday to be welcomed by Carolyn and were shown to first class rooms, our Dutch friend was with us. The 3 of us returned the following Sunday and stayed for 4 nights. Breakfasts are superb with a huge choice and piping hot, better than a lot of hotels who charge far more! Our accommodation for the second stay was in one of the apartments which was lovely and unexpected so we had more facilities. Carolyn and her team made sure everything was perfect for our stay and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who wants to be close to Edinburgh. Thanks Carolyn for a perfect stay and hope to see you again.

After a bit of a stressful flight to Edinburgh - thanks Flybe :( - to arrive at our lovely warm room and be greeted by Carolyn was a blessed relief. She was so kind to us during our two night stay that I wish we had been able to stay longer. As other reviewers have noted everything here is excellent from the rooms to the breakfasts. Your hosts are also full of good info on the best way to get up to Edinburgh central and back - the bus is quick and very convenient. Plenty of parking for our hire car and an easy drive from the airport. Without doubt the best place to stay if you want to go to Rosslyn Chapel - literally 5 mins drive down the road. Simply a great place to stay.

We would like to say 'Thank you' for the great time we had at this place. The room was very clean and very well decorated. Since we spend most of the time in town + countryside we really enjoyed the breakfast. Besides a large variety of flakes, fruits, nuts, juices, jellies we enjoyed eggs, salmon, toasts, tomatoes and mushrooms in various ways - soooo delicious!!!
It is true, that the B&B is rather outside of Edinburgh - and it takes the busses rather 30min to 45min to get into town, but bus station is right across the street and the busses run frequently. That wasn't limiting at all!
And it's just too bad not to have a traditional pub in walking distance. (There is a shopping area within 1km distance though.)
We were also lucky to see the countryside around Loanhead. If you like walking: there are many hiking paths around. Just by chance we hiked to Roslin (remember this extraordinary church in the book 'The DaVinci Code'?) ... and not very far we stumbled over the veterinarian institute were clone sheep Dolly lived.
So if you are not only interested in Edinburgh but also in the country side, this is the place to go!!
Thank you Aaron for the wonderful time we had!!

What an amazingly comfortable and friendly b&b - a more accurate description would be 'boutique hotel-style b&b'. Carolyn and Les have thought of everything, from a clean, spacious, uncluttered room and state-of-the-art shower, complementary tea/coffee/biscuits/water and a fresh rose, plug adapters for visitors from abroad, to a tastefully decorated breakfast room with a fantastic selection of freshly cooked breakfast variations and a plentifully stocked 'honesty bar'. Les made us feel welcome as soon as he opened the door and Carolyn is a wonderful, generous hostess - and a very interesting person - it was a pleasure to have made her acquaintance. Her staff were equally friendly and welcoming. We will definitely try and stay here again the next time we visit Edinburgh. Thank you Carolyn :)
