A great hotel !!! Most four star hotels can't measure up to this hotel in terms of comfort, decor and excellent customer service. The well trained staff were polite, efficient and really happy to assist, whether it be with my eighty six year of Grandmother or my 6 year old nephew.

Check-in staff were excellent, dealing with our complicated
room requirements quickly and easily. The rooms themselves were fantastic. This was during the recent heatwave, and portable fans had been placed in every room along with the offer of individual single sheets if your duvet became too much.

The restaurant though was the best feature! All the staff were great! Special mention must go to Annie the young lady who went out of her way to be friendly and helpful. A bright future in hotel management awaits this individual. She had that magic touch which is so rare these days. In short, this hotel should not be missed when considering a trip to the lovely city of Edinburgh.

The hotel is very clean and quite welcoming in a fairly decent area of town
Check in was efficient and friendly.
Room was large and very clean with oversized bed and well presented bathroom!

There is a bar on the ground floor and a breakfast area (breakfast not included in room rate)

One negative point - the room we had had quite a bit of traffic noise late into the night (the website does warn you of that) - we specifically asked for a quiet room and next morning when i mentioned this - we were abruptly told "well some rooms are noisier than others" and the receptioned dismissed us and walked away !!!!

We've stayed in many 'starred' hotels and Travel Inns and we like Travel Inns for their cleanliness, convenience and value for money. We chose this hotel after reading the reviews and was not disappointed. Our room was large (although quite poorly lit) and quite modern for a Travel Inn and it had a nice bathroom. The receptionist was very helpful on arrival and it turned out that we were walking distance from the Grassmarket bars. The only downside is the car park is a (nice if the weather is fine) 5 minute walk and quite expensive (about £12 for overnight), but I suppose it is a city centre and it's still cheaper than parking in London!! I would definitely return to this Travel Inn when we go back to Edinburgh - highly recommended!!

Nice location, real close to the castle, royal mile, princess street. HOWEVER, if you have a car you have to park at the castle terrace car park which is about 2-3 blocks away and cost $10gbp for overnight parking that is the only real drawback. Room was nice size and very clean, staff was friendly. Don't bother with the breakfast, overpriced in my opinion.
