Really reasonably priced hotel with exceptionally comfortable bed. No frills approach - i.e. no microwave, but kettle to make coffee & tea. Great breakfast and meals available in hotel.
Excellent location. We easily to hotel from the train station. Easy walking to Grey Friars Bobby (great meals), Edinburgh Castle and key sites in the city. Buses were just along the street and frequent to get to other places.

Room Tip: Buy a bus pass, much cheaper than several bus rides. Also if going to Glasgow, the bus is really rea...

This was an exciting place to be in August for all of the festivities and was able to catch the double-decker bus of the city tour across the street from the hotel. Was walking distance for 6 of us to the castle and different venues of the 'fringe'; although my mum and dad (mid-70's) had to take taxis to-from the castle. And there is transportation to the top of the castle for those who cannot walk up the steep hill and against the wind by asking the security personnel at the intersection the taxi drops 'you' off. Hotel was clean and friendly with breakfast and a bar.

Hotel location was excellent for the Military Tattoo and other attractions. The staff were friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable and we had a very pleasant stay. Our room was nice (and quiet) and the breakfast (premier) is worthy of a special mention. We also tried the evening meals in the hotel and these were equally enjoyable and reasonably priced too. I would certainly recommend this hotel to family and friends if they needed to stay in Edinburgh.

Thank you for your fantastic review following your recent stay at Lauriston Place.

I am delighted to read that you were impressed by the situation of the hotel within the city.

Being such a vibrant city with a great variety of activities to fill your day, my colleagues work hard to ensure that their knowledge of local events and attractions is up to date and I am pleased that you benefited from their advice.

I am also pleased that you enjoyed our breakfast, which is extremely popular with our guests and is the perfect way to prepare yourself for a day exploring our beautiful capital city.

We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the near future.

Kind Regards

First time to Edinburgh- for the tattoo so every hotel has bumped their prices up for that and the Festival. £150 per night for a room!! But was clean and well kempt- Note NO air conditioning- just a fan in the room. Annoyingly only one power socket (which was loose and required jiggling to work) in the room so couldn't charge a phone and have a fan on at the same time.
Staff very friendly though and appear to really enjoy their jobs.
breakfast good buffet selection plus got my poached eggs pronto.
It is 10 minutes walk from the castle so great location.

Room Tip: Busy road next to hotel so the higher the better and ask for ones down the side road not at the fron...

Quite expensive for a premier inn but I guess this is due to location. Great staff who will advise you where to go. Easy walking distance to all main tourist attractions. Worth paying for the breakfast as its buffet & tasty. Rooms standard, don't forget to bring toothpaste & shampoo as not included.
