“10 mins by train into city; what parking problems?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

Stayed here when visiting Xmas German markets and to see Thin Lizzy. Although it's about 25 miles from the Forth bridge, there's no parking problems or cost and only £3.70 return on the train and 10 mins travel time. The ticket machine on the platform only takes cards but you can pay on the train, (children free at weekends!). The room was huge as was the bed, comfortable too and controlable heating with a great power shower. Receptionists were friendly and efficient. Always good value!

Thank you for taking the time to write your review Stewart. I am thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us, and we were able to rectify the missing company reservation. The team are very happy to hear you found them friendly and helpful, and your comments mean a lot to them.

I am pleased to hear you enjoyed the plated offering in comparison to the buffet style, and I will pass on your feedback to The Cuddie Brae regarding the volume of food offered as I know, like us, they will appreciate knowing the ways we can improve to keep our guests happy.

Thank you again for taking the time to write a review and we would be delighted to welcome you back to the hotel in the near future.

Excellent location and staff with in the travelodge, room large and over looked the carpark never experienced any noise at all, brilliant clean little travelcot provided for our daughter. Took train into Edinburgh for £3.80 return which was a god send. Train station just a couple of mins across the road and run regularily to centre of Edinburgh, just buy your ticket with your credit card at the unmanned machine. Breakfast in adjoining restaurant was good and staff pleasant but felt dinner was over priced for the quality and quantity. We tended to jump in the car and drive to ikea for our supper which was close by. Good retail park just up the road never got a chance to look round properly as we were only down 3 days. Will def be back is better than a lot of dearer hotels we have stayed in and the staff are first class, did not meet one which let the travelodge down. They should be extremely proud of their staff at this place.

Room Tip: Over looking the car park seems to be the preferred option for a quiet room.

We were looking for a well located and relatively cheap place to stay for one night when visiting friends in Edinburgh. Whilst we usually stay with our friends, on this occasion renovation work at their house meant this was not possible. We stayed at Premier Inns before and always found them to be acceptable and this was no exception. This hotel has a good location just off the city bypass and is easy to find. There is good car parking available for free and the adjacent pub provides good value evening meals as well as a decent breakfast. We paid an additional £16.50 (£8.25 per adult with breakfast free for the children) to have breakfast and it was well worth it. The hot food is cooked to order rather than buffet in nature and is good quality. There's plenty of cereals to choose from, croissants, fruit, yoghurt etc

Our room was on the second floor. It was a decent size, clean and with a double bed and two single beds for the children. Tea and coffee making facilities were available and the bathroom was a nice size with both bath and overhead shower available. We found the ring to be nice and quiet and had a good sleep.

There are several shops and restaurants within easy reach of this hotel and we would certainly recommend it.

We stayed three nights on a sightseeing trip to Edinburgh. The rooms were reasonable and not at all noisy if you keep the windows closed. We weren't bothered by the trains/road or fire station across the road. The Inn is very handy for the train station just a 6 minute walk across the road and the trains run often to the very centre of Edinburgh which saves trawling around the city looking for a rare parking space! We also ate in the pub next door and found the food to be good honest pub grub at a very reasonable price. I would definately stay here again and feel it was very good value for money plus the staff are very friendly too..

Room Tip: We had a room at the front of the Inn and didn't have any problems with noise at all (I sleep li...

My cousin and I stayed here to attend a gig in the city. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and gave great information on travel to and from city centre which we found to be easy to use and convenient. The bedroom was lovely, clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was lovely. I would recommend the choc fudge sundae very highly btw. the restaurant staff serving were very helpful and welcoming. Very comfortable, traditional type of restaurant and bar. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definately book again! Thanks guys.

We stayed three nights while visiting family in Edinburgh after touring the western isles for a week. Hotel clean and service was fine but I guess we had a room above an insomniac who, on our last night woke us up with constant plodding about his/her room. Despite Premier Inn's guarantee of a good nights sleep the reception staff didn't seem too interested.
