“the most comfortable B & B you can find close to the city of Edinburgh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2010

I booked in for two weeks and ended up staying almost 11 weeks, the room's are very comfortable, the hosts Linda and Sandy make you feel very welcome. You have to have the Braemar breakfast to set you up for the day wether your working or sight seeing. You will get great tips on places to visit from Linda and Sandy and the B & B is situated right on the main bus route for easy travel. I would not hesitate to recommend the Braemar B & B to anyone wishing a very relaxing short break or like myself a base while working in Edinburgh.

I have stayed all weeks for 2 nights per week in Feb 2010. The establishment is very well run, spotlessly clean and friendly. Lynda and Sandy are excellent hosts, very helpful and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone.

It would be nearly impossible to find fault with this guest house, which is a testament to it's owners, Sandy and Linda McAulay. They both exude class and professionalism and it permeates throughout their home. The double room was immaculate. The bathroom fixtures glistened and I believe they change the bedding every 15 minutes. There was a flat-screen tv and wi-fi access in the room and toiletries in the well-proportioned en-suite.

Breakfast was cooked fresh by Linda and conversation was supplied by Sandy. (They both did their jobs very well.) The location is ideal; less than 20 minutes to Princes Street by bus, and only a short walk for buses to Glasgow, Stirling and the airport (though I did opt for a taxi for 10 pounds.)

I spent 6 days here and wished I could have stayed longer.

Richard and I stayed for the first time at Sandy and Linda's home and were made so welcome. It was so comfortable and relaxing. Nothing was too much trouble for them. If anyone has any doubt or where to stay in Edinburgh please try their guest house. You will not be dissapointed. The breakfast's was lovely and the rooms so comfortable. We would always stay there if we returned to Edinburgh. Thank-you both for making our break so comfortable.

Kate and Richard.

My wife and I received a warm and friendly welcome on our arrival. The Braemar is one of (if not the) cleanest and tidiest establishment we have ever been to. Our room was warm, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was spotlessly clean (gleaming!). The breakfast was all we could have wished for and served with a smile. We will certainly be returning to the Braemar and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

This is a little gem located in a plush suburb of Edinburgh yet only 15 minutes by regular, frequent public bus (£2.50 all day ticket or £1.10 single) to the centre of Edinburgh and all its attractions. This was a great option as the Braemar has free car parking on the premises.
Within walking distance (under 5 minutes) is Edinburgh Zoo and some smart local shops in Corstorphine.
Linda and Sandy made me feel really welcome to their well furnished, cosy and comfortable guest house. The centrally heated bedroom which was spotlessly clean, included en suite shower, new flat panel digital TV, tea and coffee tray and ever so comfy bed. Breakfast is a feast with plenty of choice and obviously cooked to order. Don't leave without trying the renowned Braemar special!

We stayed in the Braemar Guest house for two nights in September. It was a nice experience. From arrival at this lovely old house to departure we felt very welcome by Linda and Sandy who were very helpful in all matters. From riding the bus, to dinner, shopping sightseeing - you name it. Also the house is located right along bus lines running to downtown Edinburgh - very convenient.
The house is very nice, well kept and very clean! And the breakfast is great too!
