Stayed one night at Inchgrove House on business, and was very impressed. Two minutes walk from Princes street, and the heart of Edinburgh, so easy to get to the Castle, the station, etc. The airport bus goes along Princes St., so easy to and from the airport too. There's no sign on the door, so you have to remember the house number!
The guest house is a wonderful old house, with massive ceilings and is decorated immaculately. A large staircase leads you up to the guest rooms. The room I had was large and plush, with a comfortable bed, enormous ancient wardrobe, chairs, large window with a good view over the street, big bathroom. Quiet at night. Very friendly staff.
And the breakfast - WOW! Everything you could want and more. Cereal, toast, fruit, juices, yoghurts, coffee, tea, and then whatever you want freshly cooked. The full scottish didn't all fit on one plate.
All in all, lovely. Just a pity I was staying on business for one night only........
