Our room was very comfortable, clean and up-to-date with a lovely en-suit shower room/toilet – for the price I thought it was fantastic value. The full cooked breakfasts were excellent, in a clean and modern dinning room. The free Internet access was very convenient, and the host and staff very helpful. I would highly recommend this guesthouse, and it would be the first place it would try and book a room if I return to Edinburgh.

Don't quite know how this guest house had a 3 star Scottish Tourist Board award. The owner was a very pleasant guy and the breakfast was lovely but the rooms were in need of a lot of tlc. There was no valance on the bed and the rooms were a bit on the shabby side.

It was a very convenient place to stay if you want to visit Edinburgh town as there is an excellent bus service virtually on the doorstep.

It is a great place. Reasonably priced, clean room with a great breakfast. Martin, the manager was very helpful. Additionally, you have use of internet facilities. Although there are few eating places close to the Guest House it is only a short bus ride to the centre of Edinburgh and buses run frequently. There is a nice local pub just up the street.

After a very stressful train journey where some v.rude people had stolen our seats and then refused to move we got a nice friendly greeting from Martin at the Garfield (and also a v. friendly lady taxi driver who gave us a free tour!).

It's on a lovely quiet road with views of the castle, about £6 for a taxi from center. The tourist bus picks up directly outside the front door every 20 mins until around 5pm - we got a 2 day pass with Fourth Bridge Boat Cruise included for £21 each.

Breakfast was good, lovely dining room. Our room could do with a little work, just small things - bathroom mostly, mirror was broken, wonky toilet seat, light didn't work, room needs repainting overall - but apart from that was clean and of a reasonable standard - if these small things were fixed I would give a 5 rating. Staff were good. Cabs were also excellent - we used Central which had a little sign in reception - just put the phone down and they were there!

Great city, bad train passengers - I would book the Garfield again.

We had a really fantastic stay at the Garfield Guest House Edinburgh bed and breakfast. The host was very helpful and friendly and gave us excellent information about Edinburgh and generally made our trip a real joy. The free internet in the dinning room was really handy for checking email and finding directions for our walks around Edinburgh. The breakfast was delicious with good quality sausages and bacon from an award winning local butchers. I would absolutely recommend Garfield Guest House to anyone looking for accommodation in Edinburgh.
