My friend and I stayed at The Beverley in Edinburgh for the first three days of our month visit to The Highlands in Scotland from the USA. It was a perfect beginning to a marvelous month. The Beverley is very conveniently located in a quiet area just five to ten minutes from the center of Edinburgh by any of at least four buses which stop right down the block. The terraced house is large and gracious, with a huge beautiful foyer and lovely dining room. The rooms are large and well appointed with comfortable beds and attractive decor. Our twin room (all are en suite) was on the top (3rd) floor. There was a big skylight in the bathroom, and the large bedroom had a tall bay window with a great view. Since we were there when the days were long (still light after 11PM) we appreciated the heavy drapes which kept the room pitch dark when closed. Breakfasts were delicious with superb service by very friendly staff. Judy (the proprietress) was thoroughly knowledgable of the area and was so generous and helpful whether for making suggestions, giving directions, or discussing local culture, history or events. She was so warm and welcoming that we felt at home immediately. Both Judy and her husband Hutch far exceeded our high expectations of the friendliness of the Scottish people. We felt that no request would be too much for them to do for us. Someday I'd love to return to Edinburgh and I would hope to stay at The Beverley again. Make your reservations far in advance, especially for August during the fastivals, as the rooms fill up fast in this outstanding B&B.

I was in Scotland for a conference and had a free weekend prior, so took the train to Edinburgh for a couple of days of sightseeing. I booked the Beverley on the web, and was completely satisfied with my choice. The location is on a quiet residential street of Edinburgh townhouses, but a short bus trip from the city centre (the buses run every few minutes), and the hosts are welcoming and helpful. My room was spotlessly clean, had an ensuite bath and flatscreen television, and--very important for me--wireless internet. The Hutchisons recommended a nearby restaurant for dinner and, as it was my first night in Scotland; I ordered haggis. It was superb. Edinburgh is a beautiful city with much to see, and the Beverley offers excellent accommodation in a gracious setting; highly recommended.

All the positive reviews are completely true. The Beverley is a wonderful B&B to stay at while in Edinburgh. Close enough via bus to downtown, but far enough to enjoy the "real" Edinburgh and have a peaceful evening. Would highly recommend. Judy is an amazing host.

Booked The Beverley on the strength of the reviews and we were not disappointed. The Property is in a lovely tree lined road, and is a beautiful victorian house. A friendly welcome greeted us, and our room was a good size, en suite and at the back of the house on the ground floor. The bed was comfy, room well presented and the shower great - cant ask for much more really. Great proximity to Murryfield for the Rugby too. Breakfast was OK although it could have been a bit warmer to be honest, and no herbal tea either, but overall, good place to stay, and we'd go back (if we did not keep loosing the rugby!)
