Recently spent a weekend in Edinburgh based at these apartments. They are relatively new, completed in September 2007 and located in the regeneration area of Fountainbridge, approximately 15 minutes walk to the main tourist hub of the city.
On arrival ! was upgraded to a two bedroom apartment. The specifications are very modern and minimalist . Bathrooms were spacious and high tech as was the kitchen area of the very large lounge/diner. Toiletries were from Moulton Brown. A breakfast pack was left in the room and replaced each day . The beds were excellent as was the quality of the bedding and pillows - a particular issue with me! The staff were young , efficient and unobtrusive. The apartment was very spacious with plenty of storage for those staying longer or carrying lots of baggage. All apartments are internet linked - you simply request a link from reception. The apartment was non smoking , though many apartments have outside balconies if a quick drag is unavoidable! The location was not yet as swish as the apartments , sited as they are in an area still undergoing a full transformation. but it was safe , well lit and close to the main tourist areas but quiet enough to get a good nights sleep.

Just two quibbles - robes - there weren't any. The bread was white and doughy and not very nice really. Otherwise the apartments deserve their 5 star rating

We really loved the EQ-2. We have a family of 4 with 2 teens. There were 2 separate bedrooms with a TV in each so the teens could watch their thing. We also had a Living area with seating for 4. There was also a kitchen that was supplied as discussed in other reviews. Plenty of room to move around in.

It is located right outside of the old town so as the keep the cost down but not so far that you cannot walk. There is also access to buses that will take you downtown. There are 4 nice restaurants just steps away. You also have walking access to the 2 train stations in town so you can get to London or over to Stirling.

After what we had in London for the same price the family thought it was great.

We stayed for 3 nights in a two bedroom apartment. Great appointments: leather furniture, modern kitchen with clothes washer/dryer, plasma TV in living room and bedrooms, and spotless bathrooms. Our fridge was stocked daily with cereal, milk, yogurt, and bread. If I was to find a fault it would be that it was sometimes hard to get the receptionist. We had to use their cell phone to contact them and then was charged for the call. But this was so minor. The hotel/apartment was the best of both worlds: the amenities of an apartment and the service of a hotel.

We stayed for one night in the apartment and dearly wished we could stay longer. The reception staff are friendly, helpful and were there to make the checking in process a dream. The apartment?? what else is there to say other than ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!!! Everything is there that you could wish for (plasma tv in lounge and bedroom, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, full oven, fridge, freezer, cutlery, dining table etc. etc.) and there's a "breakfast pack" delivered for the following morning. We didn't hear any noise (even though we saw that an apartment above us were throwing a party!!). If there's anybody who can say a bad thing about these apartments, then get in touch because you must be potty!!!! Go back again?????? I'm packing my bags!!!!!! :-)
