“It is what you make it..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

Leith has some fine features - the waterside at Leith has some very fine restaurants and plenty of places just to hang out and be. There are certain parts of the docks that are worth walking alongside and of course the royal yacht Brittania is there - well worth a visit.

The area though still has a slight run down feel, the shopping mall by the Brittania is a average, the shops in the area look like they have seen better days. The walk from Leith along the waterway ( River of iieth walkway) is good and brings you to the heart of the city.

Equally walking up from Leith and through stockbridge is a delight. So Leith is what you make it but worth a visit thought watch out in winter when the rain and wind can chill the bones and you need to retreat to the warmth of the pub

“Docks everywhere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

The main street was fine, there were some statues and fine restaurants and bars along.
There is not too much to see here, Ocean Terminal is a mall, so do not count that, it's filled with docks, and we came across on some kind of rubbish place. There were heaps of rubbish with smell as well.

“Loved Leith!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

Our hotel was based in Leith. The first day we walked around to discover the area. We were really enthousiastic! We walked to the SS Britania. We had a nice lunch on constitution street. We especially loved the area around the Shore, with the river and the boats. As for the safity: we walked through Leith links park at night. We saw some youth with cans of beers, others were drunk and screaming (not at us). So i can imagine you might feel scared. But if you are used to night live in big cities, nothing to worry about
