Wonderful stay, instantly felt as comfortable as home! Rowena was a great and attentive host throughout, really knew her stuff about Edinburgh too. Room was really well appointed, comfortable beds and plenty of room. The breakfast is fantastic, great choices, wonderfully prepared.

I cannot fault it, will be staying there again and would recommend to all.

I stayed at the Sheridan Guest House recently on a business trip. As I have always stayed in hotels and found them to be lacking in personality and warmth, I decided to book myself into the Sheridan Guest House. Rowena gave me a very warm welcome and made me feel instantly at home. It was as if I was a relative paying her a visit!

I am a very hypercritical person when it comes to cleanliness and found myself in bewilderment when I could not fault the place. I was told by Rowena that she does not let anyone else clean the rooms apart from herself as she finds others don't put in the same amount of effort like she does and this is very evident.
The room I stayed in was beautifully decorated with paintings on the walls and fresh, real living flowers on the table with a chocolate daintily layed on my pillow. The rest of the house was filled with different eclectic and artistic findings from their travels which I found was beautifully put together.

Breakfast was the best I've had in a long time. Better than what you expect to get from well known hotels. All freshly made and all beautifully done to perfection. (Ask her about her scrambled eggs. She will give you a a short cooking course and in no time you will be able to replicate it easily at home, like I have done.) The pancakes are light and fluffy and served with or without bacon. Rowena recommeneded I try it with bacon and so I did with reluctance but lo and behold it was superb!

Most of the people that were staying there at the time were people of stature and people who have stayed previously at the Sheridan. Generally people of higher middle class status.

I wish I could tell you the negative parts of my stay at the Sheridan but I have none to give apart from my stay was too short and wish I had stayed for leisure. I will definitely, with no hesitation, come back to the Sheridan for my next visit. It will be new home away from home. Thanks again for your warm welcome, Rowena and see you very soon!

Me and my friends could not have been made more welcome at the Sheridan. The rooms were beautifully deocrated and absolutely spotless. Rowena and Tom can't do enough for you - it's like you are staying with family. Couldn't recommend them highly enough. And their garden is beautiful!
