“Customer service is exceptional”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

I went here for my sisters bday. The food was very good. It doesn't sell alcohol but offers free corkage/glasses etc which in itself is impressive. The music was a good volume, with tunes the entire family enjoys. However, it is the service that makes this place stand out from the crowd. It was outstanding. Genuinely happy and friendly staff, ensuring that everything is perfect. Plus they came out singing with a cupcake and candle for my sisters bday, without us asking. This made the day extra special

“Excellent food and even better atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

What a gem of a place this is, in a time where so many resturants over charge for drinks with this place you can bring your own and they don't charge any corkage. The food was very good and all 5 of us enjoyed the meals we had greatly. I had the burger with smoked chedder cheese which was mouthwateringly good. The staff were exceptional and the waitress, never got her name, was very nice and knowledgable. Next time I am in Edinburgh I will certainly be heading here again.

“Best burger in Edinburgh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

I had the Angus burger with smoked cheddar cheese and onion rings. The burger was charcoal broiled, and it was the best burger I have had in years. It came with an order of chips (French fries) and a small salad. Laila's doesn't have a liquor license, but there is no fee for uncorking a bottle of wine. The service was good, and the server was very helpful.

“Excellent lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

For a different meal (Middle Eastern), go to Laila's, just off the Royal Mile, for lunch. We started with the deep fried halouma (cheese) with cranberry sauce. My wife had the falafel wrap and I had the chicken shawarma chicken wrap. Both were excellent, served with a small salad. Gourmet chips with sea salt were crisp and excellent. I recommend the Elderberry sparkling water, made in Scotland. Also had excellent cafe lattes. Portion are large so if you have a small appetite, I would recommend sharing one wrap. Pleasant interior with outdoor seating on a pleasant sunny day in Edinburgh.

“simple clean tasty food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

I was there on a rainy day, stayed for 3h after eating reading a book with a great mint tea.
Falafel are just right, so is the hummus. The service is really friendly, a nice little place to enjoy with friends or calmly in the afternoon.
