I stayed here for four nights with my seven year old daughter. Room was spotless and very nicely furnished. Beds very comfortable - my daughter never wanted to get up. Service was excellent - low key but friendly and all the staff very very nice indeed. Breakfast was superb - I can honestly say the best omelettes I have ever tasted! The buses stop outside the hotel and seem to come every three or four minutes. Once on them it it is under ten minutes to PrincessStreet. Our train back to London left in the early evening. - hours after check out time. We were able to store our cases in the hall and Marina gave us the key to let ourselves in and get them just in case she were not there. I am trying hard to think of anything that could be improved in this place and I genuinely cannot. Owners really really nice. Place lovely. Thoroughly recommended.

The rooms were really nice and we loved the roll-top bath, but it was very expensive for its location - it's a good 10 minute bus ride from town, and this makes a BIG difference during the festival when all the taxis are busy.

Hello, I would just like to respond to the previous reviewer. Yes we are ten minutes by bus from the city centre.

We state this on our web site and we also send out written confirmation with each reservation and again our location is mentioned - so I do not understand why this person is now complaining about us being ten minutes by bus from the city...

We had a wonderful, marvelous, cozy and comfortable stay at the Sandaig GuestHouse. Marina and Derek and the staff were awesome. The breakfasts were divine and delicious and filling.
Our room was awesome, large and comfy and decorated beautifully. We had a private bathroom and it was HUGE and just great. The GuestHouse is adorable, truly Scottish and the feeling truly wonderful from the time you arrive to the time you leave.
We DEFINATELY will return. The Stewarts of Amherst NH USA

The stay in Edinburgh has three special happenings to remember, the Military Tattoo, the Royal Yacht Britannia and the place we stayed three nights, the Sandaig Guesthouse.

The situation of the Sandaig is superb, in about 15 minutes you are in town, the same time you need to walk to the harbourfront of Leith and just over the street you have the pleasure of a nice park.

The rooms are nice and clean. We had everything to enjoy the room. The owners, Marina and Derek, and the staff are friendly, helpfull and very kind. We liked the Breakfast room and every morning the choice who was excellent.

If we visit Edinburgh again we stay at Sandaig.

I booked the Sandaig for 8 people and each one of us were more than happy with our stay. The rooms are nicely furnished and clean, the breakfast service was great and Marina was extremely helpful from the start when I made the initial reservation. The website recommendations for dinner are also spot on. I would highly recommend the Sandaig for visitors to Edinburgh as is great value. I will definitley be going back there on my next visit.
