I have been staying at the Sandaig on and off for several years and it remains consistently friendly, warm, and extremely comfortable. I have recommended it to several colleagues who are also converted.

Well situated for The Royal Yacht Britannia and all the attractions of Edinburgh itself (£2.30 all day bus fare from outside hotel)
Clean and well appointed, very good breakfast.
Price made it reasonable rather than very good value for money.
My wife and I have just returned from a fabulous weekend break in Edinburgh. We stayed at the Sandaig guesthouse - a real gem of a friendly hotel situated right by Leith links (now a lovely piece of parkland but originally the home of golf). We were given a wonderful high-ceilinged room with elaborate plaster cornice. A four-poster bed was the centerpiece of the room which overlooked the links. We even had a plasma t.v. and d.v.d player!
And what better way to start the day than with a full scottish breakfast (haggis an option for those braver than this timid wee englishman) served by friendly and attentive staff.
Just a short walk to some great pubs and restaurants by the shore in Leith - we liked the Malt and hops pub and Skippers seafood restaurant. A twenty minute walk took us to the centre of Edinburgh. What a wonderful city! We enjoyed it so much we've booked to come back for hogmanay! Cheers!
This was our first trip to the Leith side of Edinburgh, Sandaig being recommended by my usual haunt, which was full. And I was not disappointed. An extremely well appointed and comfortable bed and breakfast in a couple of converted terraced houses. All the usual amenities in the individually designed, decorated and furnished rooms (the two we had included en suite facilities) including wireless internet.
The family staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the hotel was within easy reach of the new waterfront developments and restaurants and getting to the city centre was also easy. Breakfasts were excellent.
I'd stay again, no doubt!
This is a small family owned guest house in Leith. All rooms are tastefully decorated to a high standard. The service was excellent and very friendly. This hotel is directly on the bus route (Bus stop outside the hotel) and only ten minutes from the centre of Edinburgh. Breakfast is served between 8am and 9am, and guests can choose from a wide selection. The small breakfast room is sunny and also tastefully decorated.
All in all, we can recommend the Guest House to future guests and would stay there again.
