Isobel and Jas have managed the impossibe, combining warmth and friendliness with luxury and style in this gracious house. Isobel's generous breakfast is wonderful, the beds huge, the antiques and the decor are charming. And as a totally unexpected bonus, Isobel entered into the spirit of the research we were there to do, providing very useful information about this historically interesting and beautiful corner of Edinburgh. Nobody could ask for more!

We stayed for a few days back in February and were thoroughly delighted with everything. The room was nice and big with seating space and a large bed. The food and hospitality were excellent. The flat is located in a lovely quiet area but 3 minutes walk from at least 6 bus routes running into town every few minutes or out to Leith to see Britannia. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to Edinburgh.

We have just returned from a long weekend in Edinburgh where we stayed at a beautiful guest house called Blackett Garden Flat. It was so lovely that I wanted to write a review to let others know about it that they may stay there too. It is actually a gorgeous old ground floor flat owned by a lovely couple called Jas and Isobel for whom nothing was too much trouble. Due to a delayed flight we did not arrive until 2am but even this was no trouble for them and they went out of their way to welcome us to Scotland without being in any way obtrusive. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel very much at home, they could not have been kinder in fact.

We stayed in a delightful en-suite bedroom where our every comfort had been considered. It was tasteful decorated with everything from TV, CD player, guide books, reading material and even Scottish shortbread along with our tea making facilities. The bathroom had a shower and again everything we could have needed had been thought of. It was these little touches which made our stay so comfortable.

Isobel was kindness itself and provided the most amazing breakfasts which included fruit salads to die for and a huge choice varying from traditional full breakfasts (including haggis!) to Scottish salmon and poached eggs. The little dining room was just so...well...Scottish! It was truly lovely and quite the most relaxing break I have had for many years.

I would recommend this gorgeous place to anyone and could find no fault whatsoever with any aspect of it. For a relaxing holiday in Edinburgh I totally recommend Blackett Garden Flat

My husband and I had a weekend away in Edinburgh to celebrate his birthday. The Blackett Garden Flat was a great location - very quiet yet only 1 street away from the bus into central Edinburgh in less than 10 minutes. The room was huge and very comfortable and Isobel and Jimmy looked after us splendidly. We were delighted by the sparkling wine on our arrival to celebrate my husband's birthday and the breakfasts were delicious and with a great choice. Isobel had some good suggestions for nice restaurants and was full of local information. We would love to stay here again and would recommend this B&B to all our friends.
