This is a real find. I spent three nights in this delightful little B&B and could not fault it. My room was spacious and comfortable, with lots of considerate little touches. The bed was huge, and the furnishings beautiful. Jimmy and Isobel were warm and charming hosts who could not have done anything to make me feel more welcome and at home. There is a pretty well-tended garden, and Blacket Place is in the middle of a conservation area which is unbelievably green and peaceful considering how close and accessible it is to the city centre and other amenities. The breakfasts were unforgettable - such a wide array of delicious things which set me up for the day. I was very sorry to leave, and am already looking forward to a return visit.

Isabel and Jas are superb hosts, this little B&B has everything you could possibly wish for. It's roomy, clean, breakfast fills you up for the rest of the day, a range of thoughtful little niceties in the room (CDs, a mini fridge, snacks, refreshments, reading materials, you name it - it was there!).

It's such an excellent location too, nestled in the quiet Edinburgh Southside with close proximity to buses into town (or just a 15 walk to the sights), local restaurants and Arthur's Seat and the Crags.

I would recommend this place in a heartbeat!

We spent two nights at Blacket Garden Flat while visiting family in Edinburgh. My daughter and son-in-law stayed in the second guest room. We enjoyed Isobel and Jimmy's warm welcome, which included drinks on the lawn and shortbread in our rooms. The rooms were well appointed and spacious. Breakfast was much better than the usual B&B offerings in Scotland. We'll definitely be returning.

A beautiful establishment in a quiet, convenient location. The hosts, Isobel and Jas, are wonderful - thoughtful, friendly, discrete, and pleasant. We had a large, well-appointed room overlooking the garden. The internet connection was flawless, but the newspaper was more welcome. The atmosphere is very relaxed. The dining room is small and cozy, the meals excellent. You choose from a menu that would do the best restaurants proud. The food is varied, perfectly prepared, tasty and abundant. We had all we could manage, and yet the "Braveheart" was there for anyone with a really big appetite. The location is convenient to the city sights; we walked to town on a couple of occasions, although it is a hike. The bus lines are only a short walk through a charming neighborhood if you'd rather. All in all a marvelous place. We'd certainly visit again and recommend Blacket Garden most highly.
